Belmond Cadogan Hotel and bar and restaurant, Adam Handling Chelsea, in London’s leafy Chelsea, are set to reopen the doors to guests on 1 August offering the ultimate city sanctuary.
This summer, guests will have access to private gardens for slow afternoons indulging in Afternoon tea on the lawn, taste the new, innovative, sustainable zero waste menus served on the open terrace overlooking Sloane Street before retreating to spacious suites full of home from home comforts and luxuries.
A TASTEFUL SUMMER
Chef Adam Handling’s passion for zero waste is demonstrated in the new sustainable bar menu featuring family recipes created using off-cuts from the restaurant kitchen ensuring zero waste. Highlights include ‘Nanny Sophie’s fried chicken’ a spice infused dish inspired by Adam’s mother-in-law; lobster shell soup with pomme dauphine plus old favourites return to the menu including Adam’s signature mac & cheese, crab gnocchi and zero waste croquettes.

Honouring the tradition of family gatherings over Sunday lunch; guests at Adam Handling Chelsea Restaurant can be tempted to linger a little longer over Adam’s new ‘Best of British’ menu. Artful creations have been cleverly crafted to add a new twist on tradition using the best seasonal ingredients – the menu features Adam’s signature celeriac dish ‘Mother’ plus wagyu beef, tuna tartare and ham hock terrine served with salt-baked pineapple and hazelnut. Main courses include a sharing dish of barbecued lamb shoulder, a choice of beef or vegetarian lamb, all served with the Sunday lunch essential, Yorkshire pudding partnered with broccoli and almond pesto.
A new indulgent grill menu is also introduced with a tempting array of dishes cooked on over charcoal including barbecued bone marrow served with pickled shimeji, garlic and accompanied by flatbreads; wagyu beef bavette served with treacle onion, truffle, smoked cauliflower cheese and black truffle and whole brille served with smoked shrimp butter.

Providing the perfect setting to watch the world go by, a Billecart-Salmon Champagne Oyster and Caviar menu is introduced on the terrace overlooking the tree-lined Sloane Street, plus Cadogan’s award-winning Afternoon Tea menu returns with options to enjoy in the bar, as a picnic or for the ultimate ‘at home’ experience, a special afternoon tea delivery service is introduced across London from 7 August 2020.
Adam Handling Chelsea opens for bookings from 1 August for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings only throughout August and September and on Sundays for lunch. Full restaurant opening for breakfast, lunch and dinner is planned from October onwards.
The bar and terrace opens from 11am to 11pm daily from 1 August.
SECRET GARDENS
This summer, Belmond Cadogan Hotel provides exclusive access to two of London’s most secret gardens hidden in the heart of the city, Chelsea Physic Gardens and Cadogan Place Gardens. The hotel has arranged special out of hours access to Chelsea Physic Gardens for guests to wonder through the botanical gardens and discover the apothecary of plants collected over centuries for improving health and wellbeing; whilst over in Cadogan Place Gardens, unchanged since 1886; guests are provided with a key to the private tennis courts and can choose to enjoy a picnic of Afternoon Tea on the lawn.
SUITE RETREAT

Belmond Cadogan Hotel is focussed on enhancing the wellbeing experiences for guests returning to the hotel’s 54 spacious rooms and suites with a welcome ‘care package’ of organic Bamford Spa amenities and a personal yoga mat for in-room salutations. New ‘balcony breakfasts’ are offered for those staying in a suite with a terrace overlooking Cadogan Place Gardens. Each room and suite features a large freestanding bath and a specially designed champagne and book holder for some ‘me time’ with a choice of books from the private libraries supplied by local partner, John Sandoe books.

During the lockdown, Adam Handling and team have been working tirelessly to provide key workers with healthy meals and have launched a new at home delivery service ‘Hame’ meaning whilst the restaurants have been closed, Londoners have been able to continue to enjoy the innovative tastes created by Chef and the team.
Upon opening on 1 August, there will be enlarged spaces in the dining areas for safe distancing and new protocols have been introduced to follow full government guidelines to protect the health and safety of guests and staff.
