The Midland Launches New Festive Afternoon Tea Menu

Manchester’s iconic hotel, The Midland, will be launching a limited-edition festive afternoon tea menu, which will be served in the opulent The Tea Room by Pommery from 18th November.

The brand-new menu will feature a selection of luxurious finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and an assortment of homemade cakes, all resembling classic seasonal sweet treats.

To start, guests can feast on some delightful sandwiches with fillings which include Scottish salmon and lemon cream cheese, as well as roasted turkey wrapped in Parma ham and served with apricot stuffing. Other seasonal flavours include succulent clementine & organic honey roasted ham and creamy Somerset brie and cranberry.

The Midland’s new heavenly and indulgent selection of sweet treats include a seasonal mulled blackberry cheesecake, a rich chocolate & hazelnut yule log, freshly baked stollen and Christmas tree mince pies. Plus, no afternoon tea is complete without a line up of freshly baked scones, served with Devon clotted cream & Mrs. Darlington’s jams.

Traditional afternoon tea, which is £44 per person, will be served with a range of premium loose-leaf tea, including the hotel’s three private blends, alongside a warming glass of mulled wine. Diners will also be given the option to upgrade to The Midland’s Royal afternoon tea offering for £52, which will also include a glass of Pommery champagne.

The Midland will also be offering the Excellence Afternoon Tea during the festive season for £60 per person, which includes a glass of 1874 Apenage Pommery, which was created specifically for the 150th anniversary of Madame Pommery inventing ‘brut’ champagne.
