Emily Roux and Diego Ferrari’s beloved French-Italian restaurant in Notting Hill, Caractère, will be launching a brand new three-course, great value lunch menu to mark the re-introduction of their lunch service every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October.
Just in the nick of time, with 10pm curfew introduced across the UK on 24th September, the new lunch offering is a fantastic option for those who might like to spend time whiling away an afternoon. Each dish has been lovingly created by the husband-wife super team who take influences from their French classical training, Diego’s Italian background and Emily’s love for Italian food.
“We re-opened a couple of months ago serving dinner only and it’s so wonderful to see old and new faces back at the restaurant. There’s a greater demand for tables now, so it seems the right time to extend our post-lockdown opening hours and with the new 10pm curfew in place it seems an ever better opportunity for people to come and enjoy our food at their leisure. The new lunch menu includes a starter, main and dessert/cheese for £39pp or £50pp including half a bottle of wine. On the basis of its namesake, ‘Caractère’, the menu is divided into six character traits with up to three dishes to choose from in each section: Curious – Small Plates; Subtle – Small Plates; Delicate – Fish; Robust – Meat; Strong – Cheese; Greedy – Dessert and each dish is a celebration of the French and Italian food Emily and Diego treasure.
Guests can expect beautifully crafted dishes such asRicotta and wakame stuffed cannellone, prawn, moscardini and bisque; Grilled pigeon, glazed golden turnips and liver farce, Lardo di Colonnata, figs and jus; Roast Monkfish, fondant potato, grilled cabbage, herring roe and miso butter sauce and Molten chocolate tart, pecan praline, salted caramel and mascarpone ice cream.
