Indian flavour meets Mexican fire in the brand new street-food inspired lunch menu at Yaatra, the incredible restaurant in the grade II listed Old Westminster Fire Station.
Always looking to provide a taste of adventure, Executive Chef Amit Bagyal & Head Chef Velino Goes have drawn on the common aromatics, herbs and spices shared between Mexican and Indian cooking traditions to create a vibrant explosion of colour and flavour.
The carefully curated lunch menu’s new Indo-Mexican Taco selection showcases a fiesta of flavoursome fillings encased within homemade methi thepla tacos. Thepla is the slimmest and crispiest form of chapati, made with different spice flavours making it the perfect carrier for combinations of zesty flavours with added punch.
Tandoori Chicken Jalfrezi Taco combines tender sliced chicken with tomato salsa, lime & avocado; Pulled Beef Brisket Taco is drizzled with smoky pepper mayo & lime; while the vegan Veggie & Chole Jalfrezi Taco mixes chickpeas and roasted vegetables with tomato salsa, lime & avocado. Tailor your foray into fusion with a spice level to suit your palette. Simply tell Yaatra’s Spice Sommelier whether your preference is mild, medium or El Diablo hot.
Largeritas and Jumbo Frozen Margaritas with a hint of chilli complete the Indo-Mexican journey but there’s still many more avenues on Yaatra’s new street food lunch menu to be explored.
The new menu’s taste-fuelled tour of the international street food scene continues onto moreish Indian Sliders which stuff soft brioche buns with an addictive array of unexpected fillings. The Roast Chicken & Slaw has a hint of white chocolate; the Potato Bonda comes smothered in mint and tamarind sauce; while the Lamb Kebab with red cabbage & onion mayo slaw puts all other traditional sliders to shame. Adding a side of masala fries is a no-brainer.
The Spanish tradition of tapas is given Indian Small Plates appeal and allows diners to mix and match their perfect meal with dishes including: off-the-bone Tandoori Rosemary Chicken Wings with red cabbage & lemon salad, mint sauce; crunchy Dahi Puri Chaat – a wheat bubble containing a soft tamarind, potato, mint & yogurt, and pomegranate filling; light and fresh tasting Lettuce Chickpea Cup with low fat yogurt & mint sauce; and Spicy Shrimp Manchuran tossed with sesame seeds & a sticky soya chilli sauce.
Curry-in-a-hurry bowls, homemade wraps, flavour-fuelled salads, and irresistible sides mean any lunch occasion is catered to in the stunning surrounds of the Grade II listed Old Westminster Fire Station. Whether it’s a quick meet with a friend to perk up a Monday, a client meeting with added punch, or brain food to fuel a team brainstorm, Yaatra’s world class cooking and service elevates every experience.
Yaatra’s new street food inspired lunch menu launches on 23rd October. To view menus and make your booking visit www.yaatrarestaurant.com.
