Celebrate English Wine Week: The Mutton’s First-Ever Wine Festival Is Here!

Sunday 25th May 2025 |

To celebrate English Wine Week (Saturday 21st – Saturday 29th June), The Mutton at Hazeley Heath is hosting its first-ever Mutton Wine Festival—a celebration of exceptional English wine, locally sourced food, and live music, all set within the picturesque grounds of the award-winning pub.

Taking place on Saturday 28th June, the event will bring together some of the region’s most celebrated vineyards, including Hattingley Valley, Exton Park Vineyard, and Louis Pommery, offering guests the chance to sample award-winning wines and meet the people behind the bottles.

On arrival, festivalgoers will receive a keepsake wine glass, which they can take from stall to stall while enjoying tastings and conversations with vineyard representatives.

At the Sommelier’s Table, guests can dive deeper into a curated selection of locally sourced wines, guided by House Sommelier Xavier Le Bellgo. With over three decades of international experience—from Michelin-starred kitchens in France and the US to some of the UK’s most iconic restaurants—Xavier brings a world of knowledge and a passion for wine that’s utterly infectious.

But it’s not all about the grape. Local spirit brands Gin Chin and Fr’um Pineapple & Smokey Scotch Bonnet Rum will be pouring samples of their small-batch creations. Guests can also enjoy artisan treats from U Bakery and Village Maid Cheese, and browse a pop-up gallery from local artist Ingrid Berry.

Food will take centre stage with street-food-style bites with big festival flavour, featuring dishes such as grilled steak baguettes with chimichurri, loaded corn on the cob, and fresh tacos with a choice of fillings including sea bream, grilled chicken, or beetroot and courgetti. Guests can also enjoy a generous sharing paella with chicken, chorizo, or prawns.

And of course, what’s a festival without music? Enjoy live performances from To The River, Stereo Silence, and the soulful vocals of Laura Masterson, providing the perfect soundtrack to an afternoon of sipping, sampling, and soaking up the summer.

So, grab a glass, gather your friends, and get ready to tuck into the best the local area has to offer.

Tickets cost £20 and include the wine glass and samples: https://www.sevenrooms.com/experiences/themuttonathazeleyheath/wine-festival-at-the-mutton–6432294115622912
