Visit the Cotswolds This Autumn – Visit the villages
It’s hard to think of The Cotswolds without quaint villages and picturesque cottages coming to mind. Upper and Lower Slaughter are the places to be to get a real taste of this, with stone bridges crossing the River Eye, 19th century watermills and gorgeous cottages. The trees turn fantastic autumn shades so a walk around the river is sure to get you in the autumnal spirit.
Visit the Cotswolds This Autumn – A Walk in the Woods
The cold sunny days make autumn the perfect time to get out and about in some woodland and take in the stunning colours nature has to offer. Great for family walks with the kids – collecting conkers and fallen leaves – or a romantic couples walk in the late afternoon. The Cotswolds has plenty of woodland walks to take in, such as Castlett Wood or Linover woods. You could even climb up to one of the viewpoints such as Dumbleton Hill to capture the views from a height.
Sleepy Pub Lunch
After a brisk autumn walk, you’re bound to have worked up an appetite. Whether it’s a pit stop pint or a full Sunday lunch with all the trimmings you’re after, the Cotswolds has you covered. With The Bell at Sapperton, The Churchill Arms in Paxford and The Frogmill in Shipton Oliffe to name a few.

Of course, with one of Autumn’s highlights being Halloween, pumpkin patches are in demand whether it be for carving a Halloween creation or for making a warming pumpkin soup. You can hunt down your perfect pumpkin in a variety of patches such as Cattle Country Animal Park, Over Farm Market or the Cotswold Farm Park.
