Award-winning Tudor Farmhouse, a quaint and typically English old working farm hotel set in the charming countryside of the Wye Valley has launched something that you’d typically find in a city restaurant.
Forward-thinking owners Hari and Colin Fell have launched an extensive no and low-alcohol drinks list. It wasn’t too long ago that the concept of low/non-alcohol drinks consisted of soda & lime, coca cola or a Shandy Bass – thankfully those days are a thing of the past and Tudor Farmhouse is leading the charge with their new NoLo Menu.
Their new NoLo drinks list consists of a series of tipples to cover all bases, whether that be a pre-dinner cocktail Bax Batch Martini, a bottle of Thomson & Scott Noughty Rouge De-Alcoholised Syrah with supper or post-dinner NoGroni – there really is something for everyone.
Hari Fell, co-owner of Tudor Farmhouse, is a pioneer in NoLo drinks. A world that was somewhat stumbled upon. Hari embarked on a ‘dry January’… in 2019 and just kept going. Whilst not being a big drinker, the benefits of a booze-free life were too great so it became a lifestyle and not a fad. It quickly became clear to Hari that the world of the non-drinker wasn’t as bountiful as that of a drinker. Not so much ‘would you like red, white, rose or a G&T’ but more, ‘Would you like water?’ Something had to change! Hari worked with her husband and fellow co-owner Colin on a drinks list that would rival any NoLo drinks menu anywhere. Colin is in charge of the wines and is very proud of his list, which has been painstakingly curated over many years. So their joint mission was to create a non-alcohol list that didn’t detract from his list but added to it. So with a lot of tasting, creating, and some jiggery pokery, the new NoLo menu was born.
There are currently a staggering 20 different NoLo alcohol options on this list – including red, white, rose and sparkling wines and a multitude of cocktails.
Hari Fell explains, “Creating an AF menu was something that I had always wanted to do, especially when I realised the lack of creativity in that genre. It was something I wanted to create for our guests. Rather than jump straight into it, we’ve taken time to nurture our taste buds and create something unique to Tudor Farmhouse. Along with Colin’s wine knowledge, we hope we’ve created a list that complements our alcohol list. I loved it so much that I’ve actually launched my very own AF cocktail range – NoLo Cocktails. Guests can find some of our cocktails on the menu here at Tudor Farmhouse”
