New research shows our favourite thing about Christmas is the festive atmosphere. 98% are keen to support local this Christmas and 72% are worried about the cost of living
40% of people say their favourite thing about Christmas is the festive atmosphere, according to research by local gift cards champions Town & City Gift Cards with over 1,000 consumers, employees and organisations in August 2023.
For 33%, it’s the festive activities and events that make their Christmas. 15% of people said their favourite thing is the presents and for 12%, it’s the Christmas food and drink.
But there’s also worry about how to pay for Christmas too with 72% of people saying the cost of living crisis is a concern for them.
Support for local was also strong with 98% of people saying they’re keen to support local businesses this Christmas and 87% saying they support local businesses to help keep them open. 89% plan to buy at least one gift card this Christmas.
The research was released by Town & City Gift Cards as they launch their Win Your Dream Christmas competition with a £1,000 local gift card as a prize, giving one lucky winner the chance to enjoy all of their favourite things this Christmas.
