The Ultimate Bucket List Destinations

Thursday 25th Feb 2021 |

As staying inside takes its toll on Brits, holiday makers have been offered a list of the ultimate bucket destinations to help them plan their next getaway.

The team at My Baggage researched destinations cited in existing articles and online search data, to reveal the most sought-after holidays to plan post-pandemic.

Bucket lists were popular before the pandemic, but this one might give explorers some inspiration for their first flight after freedom.

There is a dream destination for every taste on this list, from beach lovers dreaming of hot holidays to sledging excursions for those that love to be surrounded by snow.

A spokesperson from My Baggage said: “The significant decrease in travel has not halted people’s yearning for holidays.

“If anything, people are looking ahead and spending more time planning their trip of a lifetime once travel resumes.

“We’ve put together a list of the ten more desirable bucket destinations to give holidaymakers some inspiration, and hopefully we can begin to plan and prepare for trips in the near future.”

Here are the ten most common bucket list destinations:

1. Bali, Indonesia

Bucket List Destinations

Full of beautiful white sandy beaches, Bali is the number one destination people have been dreaming of. It is no surprise; the area looks like paradise and the perfect place to chill out. The beautiful island is also known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and coral reefs.

2. Kerry, Ireland

The mountains, lakes and coast lines in Kerry are postcard perfect. Full of small, unique villages, the views across the west coast are beautifully breath-taking, and that’s before a journey to Killarney National Park has been made.

3. Paris, France

Bucket List Destinations

France is one of the biggest European countries, with incredible history, architecture, and culture as outlined in this guide to France. It is full of famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, it is no surprise that Paris is near the top of so many people’s bucket lists. The beautiful bridges, fancy food, and easy to access metro services are so iconic and make it the perfect place for a short city break or romantic getaway.

4. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Known for its luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene, the high-flying city of Dubai is one of the most glamorous destinations in the world. The beaches are beautiful, hours can be spent walking around them or wondering around a huge shopping mall.

5. Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Bucket List Destinations

Tourists from all over the world visit Bora Bora for the soft white sand, crystal clear waters and peaceful seclusion. It is the perfect destination for those trying to find their own slice of paradise. Traditional bungalows are available as a cheaper accommodation choice and there are plenty of underwater adventures to keep sightseers entertained.

6. New York, America

Choosing exactly what to do is the biggest problem most tourists face in New York. It is one of America’s most exciting states. The city’s five boroughs boast charming scenery, loads of excellent excursions, and world-class dining options.

7. King George Island, Antarctica

Antarctica is an absolute once-in-a-lifetime destination. The beautiful remoteness of this snowy terrain makes it a precarious journey to make, but the breath-taking views of whiteness and wildlife from Davies Heights and Penguin Island will be well worth it.

8. Marrakesh, Morocco

Bucket List Destinations

Known as The Red City due to the bold colour of the brick walls surrounding Marrakesh, the beautiful ancient city has plenty to offer to tourists. From the gorgeous Moorish architecture, to tasty street food and outdoor markets, there is something for every taste wanting to feel the heat and explore an ancient city.

9. Sydney, Australia

Best known for its iconic Opera House, Sydney has world-class entertainment on offer. But it has so much more to offer, from the nightlight, to the beautiful coastlines, and Bondi Beach. It is the place to be for anyone interested in water sports… and a great place to soak up the sun.

10. Addu City, The Maldives

Made up of more than 1,000 islands, the Maldives is the ultimate tropical nation with loads of different locations to visit. From Addu City, expect underwater excursions and lazy days by the beach. It’s home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotel resorts, but we recommend island hopping between sandy beaches and underwater villas.
