The UK’s best cities for bottomless brunch

Bottomless brunches are a much-loved activity for many Brits, whether it be celebrating a special occasion or just an excuse to have a fun-filled group catch-up.

To shed some light on the UK’s bottomless brunch offerings, Leonardo Hotels researched 21 destinations scoring them by the number of reviews and average rating to establish the best.

From unlimited mimosas to all-you-can-eat curries, if you’re wondering which city to visit for the best bottomless brunch, look no further.

Sheffield is officially the best city for a bottomless brunch

Sheffield came out top as the best city for a bottomless brunch, scoring 100/100 in the rank.

Home to 55 bottomless brunch venues, you’re guaranteed plenty of choice when brunching in Sheffield. The city’s 55 venues averaged a Google rating of 4.4 stars out of five, with some of the highest-rated brunches including Pitcher & Piano, Terrace Goods, and HowSt Food & Drink.

Newcastle and Liverpool tied for second place, both home to 51 bottomless brunch spots and averaging an overall rating of 4.3 stars out of five.

In fourth place is Glasgow, also featuring 51 brunch venues, however with a slightly lower average rating of 4.2 out of five.

Rounding out the top five is Bristol, which takes ownership of 49 bottomless brunch venues with an average rating of 4.3 stars.

The best UK cities for nightlife

If you want to carry on your fun into the night, Leonardo Hotels also found the UK cities with the best nightlife. To do so, we looked at the average price of a pint and the number of clubs and bars with a Google rating above four stars.

Plymouth and Edinburgh tie as the best cities for nightlife

Coming joint first with a score of 91/100 are Plymouth and Edinburgh. Plymouth is home to 42 bars and 20 clubs with Google ratings above four stars, and you’ll find the average pint for about £4 in the city. Head to Edinburgh and the price of a pint increases slightly to £5.00, but the Scottish capital is also home to 45 bars and 22 clubs with a high rating on Google.

Glasgow is the runner up, scoring 84/100 for nightlife in the UK. When combined with its high score for a bottomless brunch, Glasgow makes the perfect destination to start the day with a bottomless brunch and end the night in one of the city’s many great bars and clubs.

Surprisingly, Manchester and London are home to the least four-star rated clubs and bars. Coming last in the rank, London is home to 44 bars but only four clubs that achieve four stars on Google Maps. London’s beers are also the most expensive in the UK at £6.35 per pint which further drags the overall score down to 57/100.

In Manchester, which earned only four points more than London in the study, seven clubs rated above four stars, alongside 37 bars. The average price of a pint was also £5.00 which was more than the national average.
