No matter where you are in the world, wine is universally adored. So much so that the Global Wine Market Report predicts the wine market will be worth an astonishing $434.6 Billion by 2027.

Whether you are a red, white, rosé or sparkling wine lover, there are vineyards around the world that are just waiting for you to explore. 

A new study by online drinks retailer, The Bottle Club, has revealed the top vineyards around the world:

They revealed that the UK and US prefer red wine, whilst France and Spain are white wine lovers. Everyone has their own wine personality. That’s why this email breaks down the best vineyards in the world for:

The study by The Bottle Club looked a variety of different factors when ranking each of the vineyards. This included; year established, size, distance To nearest city, wine selection (Red, White, Rosé, Sparkling), tour cost, approx. cost of cheapest bottle to buy, Google review score, accommodation attached and number of Instagram hashtags. 

Spain’s Marques de Riscal scored highly across the board landing the vineyard the top spot in the study’s overall ranking. The vineyard can be found in Elciego, just 30 minutes drive away from Logrono. The vineyard is known for its incredible architecture as well as its amazing wines.

Best vineyard for red wine lovers: D’Arenburg in Australia 

The study looked at the best vineyards for each type of wine lover and D’Arenburg in South Australia came top for the best vineyard in the world for red wine lovers to visit. 

D’Arenburg winery can be found in McLaren Vale Australia (not too far from Kangaroo Island) and is not only known for its amazing wine but also its art exhibitions and experiences. The building itself is a piece of art:

Best vineyard for white wine lovers: Domane Wachau in Austria

Domane Wachau is Austria has a number of vineyards within it. It sits on the Danube river with amazing views of their steep terraces. They pride themselves on sustainability and their extensive choice in vineyard tours – which makes it the perfect location for any white wine lover to visit. 

The vineyard is just a 10 minute drive from the pretty town of Krems an der Donau and not much further to Austria’s capital of Vienna. Ideal for a romantic weekend away.

Best vineyard for rosé lovers: Bodega Garzon in Uruguay 

Rosé lovers may find it harder to find vineyards that cater to their love of the pink drink  but there are a number of vineyards in the world that are top notch for rosé lovers, and Bodega Garzon in Uruguay was found to be the top vineyard to visit for rosé lovers in The Bottle Club’s study. 

The vineyard prides itself on being as sustainable as possible and is known for its innovative wine making – Bodega Garzon was the first sustainable, LEED certified (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) winery outside North America.

Best vineyard for sparkling wine lovers: Champagne Taittinger in France 

The top vineyard for sparkling wine lovers of course had to be a Champagne vineyard, and Champagne Taittinger came in the study. 

Not only was the vineyard top for sparkling wine livers, but the vineyard also scored top marks for being a great destination for a weekend away, with the vineyard being a mere 2.2 km from Reims. You can taste the luxurious relaxation from here.

Best vineyard for those on a budget: Bodega Bouza in Uruguay 

For wine lovers on a budget, it can seem farfetched to be able to visit one of the top vineyards in the world – and yet it is possible! 

The Bottle Club’s study looked into the cost of vineyard tours and average bottle prices and Bodea Bouza in Uruguay came out at the best place to go (though for those in and around America, it may be considerably cheaper to get there than other destinations worldwide). 

Their tours cost nothing (yes completely free) and their cheapest bottle can be found for around £19.95 ($28). Don’t be fooled though, their price doesn’t take away from the beauty of this vineyard in Montevideo, run by a tight knit team and family with an onsite restaurant where you can enjoy their amazing wine alongside some great food.

Best vineyard for your Instagram feed: Catena Zapata in Argentina

Did you even going to one of the best vineyards in the world if you didn’t take photos for your social media? If you are looking for the most Instagrammable vineyard then look no further than Catena Zapata in Argentina. The vineyard has been tagged over 46,600 times on Instagram alone. 

This vineyard is not only the most Instagrammable vineyard, but also a great vineyard to go to if you plan to bring back all the wine for your friends and family, as their cheapest bottles will set you back only £10.50 ($14.50).
