Raise a pint to the Spring Grove as the Kingston favourite reopens its doors on 17th November following an extensive refurbishment.
Located on Bloomfield Road, the beloved pub, which has been at the heart of Kingston and Surbiton’s communities since 1896, is launching with a complete redesign, paired alongside all-day menus championing seasonal British produce and new sharing roasts every Sunday.
Blending original features with contemporary touches, the pub has been transformed throughout, from oak panelling mixed with exposed brickwork, to cosy corners with booth seating and plush armchairs by the original fireplace, adding a touch of old-school charm to the Spring Grove. Outside, discover the expansive garden with covered areas, two private dining huts and festoon lighting, while the exterior of the pub has been repainted to a statement dark blue.
With seasonality at its core, the new menu created by Head Chef Michal Hesse puts the spotlight on local produce in quintessentially classic pub dishes with a modern twist. Expect the likes of Devilled kidneys on toast and Beef shin and mushroom stew with mustard dumplings, along with seasonal mains including Venison faggots, served with carrot and swede mash, Bavette steak with bone marrow and a daily-changing Whole market fish. Not forgetting the veggies, other dishes on the new menu include a Plant based burger topped with vegan cheese and served with fries and Vegan cauliflower cheese and mushroom pie with greens and lots of gravy.
Sundays play host to a signature roast with all the trimmings, including the Sunday Sharer, featuring a whole chicken with crispy skin and salsa verde, perfect with sides such as Game faggots with crispy onions, Peas, leeks and bacon and Treacle beetroot.
At the bar, grab a drink from the list of local craft beers and ales, alongside a vast selection of wines. The perfect spot for after-work with mates and dates, there is a curated list of classic cocktails and warming liqueur coffees.
Giving the community a true pub experience, the Spring Grove is also bringing back its regular events, including Meet Up Mondays and Pub Quiz Wednesdays. For the festive period, there’s a roster of events taking place, including a Charity Christmas Wrap on 13th December.
