A thick and sweet pancake, these are traditionally served with raspberry and/or strawberry jam as well as cream for a delicious breakfast or dessert.

5) Denmark – Æbleskiver

Originally these small rounded pancakes included apple slices in the center, however that’s not common anymore. Traditionally served with warm berry jam, honey/syrup and powdered sugar, these are great for a cosy winter snack.

6) Ethiopia – Injera

Used as a plate, Injera is a sourdough pancake and is a filling and nutritional meal traditionally served with stews, vegetables and/or salads.

7) England – English Pancake

Sometimes simplicity is key. The traditional English pancake is commonly served with lemon and sugar, however other sweet toppings like Golden Syrup work well!

8) France – Crêpes

Probably one of the most iconic pancakes, you can enjoy a French Crêpe both savoury and sweet. A recent survey on Taste France said the French actually prefer melted butter on their Crêpestopped with a sprinkling of granulated sugar.

9)  India – Uttapam

Another savoury inspired dish, Uttapan is rich in flavour made with a mixture of lentils, rice, onions and herbs. Adding an extra kick, it is also traditionally served with chutney and Indian stews such as Sambar or Podi.
