Oasis Fans Got the Hits at Cardiff 2025 – But Here’s What We’re Still Craving
After what feels like a lifetime, the Gallagher brothers finally reunited on stage for the first Oasis gig in (I think) 16 years, kicking off their much-anticipated 2025 tour. Like so many others of my generation, I’ve been pounding through their albums ever since the news broke, curating my own mental playlist of the tracks that defined those mad-for-it years.
Looking at the few clips of last night’s performance at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, the setlist feels pretty (and rightfully) predictable — a tour like this was always going to give fans exactly what they’ve been craving. With a heavy emphasis on their 1990s heyday, the band tore through classic after classic to a crowd that looked equal parts emotional and euphoric.
Oasis Cardiff Setlist: Every Song Played on Night One

- Some Might Say
- Bring It on Down

Encore

It’s a setlist that feels almost like a greatest hits collection, and it’s hard to argue with the choices. But Oasis fans are nothing if not opinionated, and as rumours swirled about this reunion in the weeks leading up to the tour, many were debating which deep cuts and B-sides deserved their moment under the stadium lights.
The Dream Setlist: What Else Should They Have Played?
As someone who spent my university years surrounded by die-hard fans, I know there’s no way to please everyone. But imagining an alternative setlist is half the fun. Here’s my fantasy version, mixing the anthems with a few underrated gems:
- Rockin’ Chair
- Stay Young
- Listen Up
- Slide Away
- Columbia
- (It’s Good) To Be Free
- Headshrinker
- Go Let It Out
- Gas Panic!
- Sunday Morning Call
- Fade In-Out
- Idler’s Dream
- Married With Children
- Stop Crying Your Heart Out
- Let There Be Love
- I Am the Walrus (Beatles cover – bring it back!)
Encore:
- Don’t Look Back in Anger
- Whatever
- The Masterplan
- Acquiesce
Would a setlist like this work for a huge stadium crowd? Maybe not. But part of Oasis’s enduring magic is how even their deep cuts feel arena-ready.
What Would You Add to the Setlist?
For me, hearing Slide Away, Whatever, and Acquiesce again brings back a rush of memories — it’s impossible not to be pulled back to a time when life had a completely different rhythm to it. But what about you?
If you could shake up the setlist for the rest of the tour, which Oasis tracks would you demand to hear? Do you stick with the classics, or would you swap in some B-sides and rarities for the die-hards?
Side note: Oasis gigs were always famous for fans launching cups of piss into the crowd. Judging by a few videos I’ve seen, the same old nobheads are still turning up. Good to see the “firm” lives on…
