I Tried the Viral Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream for a Week — Is It Worth the TikTok Hype?
So I buy these viral products I see at 3am whilst doom-scrolling on TikTok. I buy them myself and basically want to write articles I hope will get a fair bit of traffic — that’s the business I’m in.
But! And it’s a huge BUT!
I do always have a secret yearning for at least one of these products to actually deliver the goods. Just once, I’d love to be smugly glowing while thinking, fine TikTok, you win.
So when the Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream started dominating my For You Page — promising glass skin, bounce and glow — I caved. Again.
I’ve been road-testing it properly for a week now. Morning. Night. No filters. Here’s what I actually think.
First Impressions: Texture, Feel & Scent
Let’s start with the bit TikTok loves most: the texture.
When this goes on, it glides on smoothly and feels genuinely gorgeous. It’s incredibly smooth, always slightly cold to the touch, and instantly refreshing. I personally love that cooling feeling — although I appreciate that might be the perimenopausal side of me talking.
The scent is very subtle: light, clean and fresh, nothing overpowering or overly “skincare-y”. And the consistency? It feels expensive. There’s no other way to describe it.
That said, there is a moment where it feels slightly tacky before it fully absorbs. This lasts a little while — not forever — and I don’t mind it at all. Some people might, so it’s worth mentioning.
How It Sits on the Skin (And Under Makeup)
That temporary tackiness actually makes it a great pre-makeup base.
I do wait for it to sink in fully before applying makeup, but once it does, my skin looks:
- Dewy (in a good way)
- Smooth
- Well-hydrated rather than greasy
Foundation and concealer sit nicely on top, and it gives my skin that fresh, healthy finish I’m always chasing without tipping into shine.
If you like a natural glow rather than a matte face, this definitely delivers.
Night-Time Use (And the Pillow Factor)
At night, I tend to apply a slightly thicker layer, almost like a sleeping gel. It feels lovely and deeply hydrating — but I’ll be honest, I do wait a while before face-planting into my pillow.
I simply don’t fancy a tacky pillowcase.
Once it’s absorbed though, my skin feels plump and comfortable rather than heavy or suffocated, which is something I’m quite fussy about.
One Week In: Does It Give “Glass Skin”?
Let’s address the TikTok promise head-on.
Is this instant, filter-level glass skin? No.
Is my skin noticeably better for using it? Yes.
After a week:
- My skin feels consistently hydrated
- Texture looks smoother
- There’s a visible, healthy glow
- Makeup applies more evenly
It’s not a miracle product, but it is a solid, well-formulated moisturiser that does exactly what it claims — just without the dramatic overnight transformation social media loves to sell.
Who I Think This Cream Is Best For
This will suit you if:
- Your skin feels dehydrated or dull
- You like a dewy finish
- You wear makeup and want a good base
- You enjoy lightweight but effective textures
It may not be ideal if:
- You hate any tackiness at all
- You want instant anti-ageing results
- You prefer rich, heavy creams
Final Verdict: TikTok Hype or Worth the Money?
Honestly? This is one of the rare TikTok skincare wins.
It hasn’t changed my face beyond recognition, but it has earned its place in my routine — and that’s not something I say lightly.
The Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream:
- Feels luxurious
- Hydrates properly
- Gives a believable, wearable glow
- Works well under makeup
And most importantly — it doesn’t feel like I’ve been mugged off by the algorithm.
Will I still buy random skincare at 3am? Of course.
But for once, TikTok didn’t completely lie to me — and that alone feels like a small victory.
The Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream is available online — I bought mine directly rather than through TikTok Shop. I don’t put links in as I don’t want to look like I’m selling it…transparent for life girlypops!
31/03/2026 Update: I have now been using this product for a few months and I LOVE IT. I ‘flood’ my skin with it an hour before I go to bed and use a small amount as a primer if I’m wearing makeup. I have reordered this product three times now and have just splurged on some more Medicube skincare so I will let you know if I like those as much. Just my opinion but this one is definitely a win for me.
