Wales’ finest distillery – In the Welsh Wind – has launched three premium spirits under its flagship brand to enjoy this Christmas – two gins and a vodka.
Crafted in Wales and inspired by the landscape, culture and the weather of west Wales, the family owned and run distillery creates unique-tasting spirits inspired by their own travel experiences. The spirits tell the story of the people and places on the Welsh coast that the couple are so fond of.
Two award-winning gins have been developed by the pair – a Signature Style Gin (70cl £42.00 RRP) and Palo Cortado cask aged gin (70cl £45.00 RRP).
Signature Style Gin / Jin Cymreig (70cl £42.00 RRP) – Best served over a cube of ice with a splash of tonic water and a slice of orange. A gold award winner at the Gin Masters, In the Welsh Wind’s dry, smooth, oil-rich gin is inspired by cargoes that once docked at New Quay (Wales) bringing former exotic fruits including oranges as well as cinnamon, cloves, ginger and currants. Today, these flavours are synonymous with Wales and are the defining botanicals in this delectable spirit that reminds many of home or evokes fond memories of their travels here.
Palo Cortado Cask Aged Gin (70cl £45.00 RRP) – Best served neat, over ice or with a splash of tonic water. Awarded with a prestigious Gin Masters, by The Spirits Business, it combines the classic taste of the Signature Style gin with flavour taken on from Palo Cortado sherry casks to offer a unique depth of colour and flavour. Notes of almonds, dry stone fruit and wood spice from the cask delicately combine with the gin botanicals to deliver a sumptuous and complex experience.
Three Grain Welsh Vodka / Fodca Cymreig (70cl £40.00 RRP) Best served over ice or with your choice of mixer. This Three Grain Vodka has been exceptionally crafted by blending barley and rye, malted and distilled in Tanygroes, Wales with a wheat spirit. Uniquely Welsh in essence, this vodka is for those who appreciate the extraordinary – it will elevate your drinking experience like never before, with flavours of vanilla and cold ice cream on warm crepes, and a spicy rye finish.
