Gifts for Father’s Day – The Cartier Tank Louis

Gifts for Father's Day

This 2011 model, Cartier Tank Louis watch looks absolutely stunning on the wrist. A large model, with calendar aperture at 3 o’clock, quartz movement and cased in 18K yellow gold.

The beaded crown set with a sapphire cabochon, silvered grained dial, sword-shaped hands in blued steel, mineral crystal, and alligator-skin strap with Ardillon buckle in 18K yellow gold, all exude style and sophistication whilst the famous Cartier brand is instantly recognisable, this is a real show piece for the dad with the swag.

Gifts for Father’s Day – Vintage Omega Genève

Budget – Low Watch Style – Vintage Dress

Gifts for Father's Day

This Omega, which was first introduced by Omega in 1968, is unusual in the fact that it is rare to find on the original Fixo-Flex expander bracelet which was an option from Omega at the time. The steel tonneau shaped case has a polished finish and compliments the sheen finish of the deep aubergine/blue dial, which is relatively rare making this a unique gift. Your dad is a one off right?

Gifts for Father’s Day – Hamilton’s British Military RAF Issued Wristwatch

Budget – Medium Watch Style – Military

Gifts for Father's Day

Enthusiasts refer to it as the “Hamilton Mark 11” because it was manufactured for the British government at the same time as its famous brothers, from IWC & JLC, to the same RAF specification, and has the same features, though this model doesn’t have the hacking feature. It is believed that only around 3200 examples of this watch were made which makes them highly desirable. If your dad is a history enthusiast, this could be the perfect gift, a chance to own a watch with genuine links to the past.

Gifts for Father’s Day – Omega Chronostop Geneve

Budget – Low Watch Style – Vintage Sports Watch

Gifts for Father's Day

Omega released the Chronostop in 1966. Originally intended to be part of the Seamaster collection, the Chronostop was transferred to the Geneve collection in 1967 as a lower-priced chronograph watch for younger buyers. Despite the low price, the Chronostop was a premium model.

With its slate grey coloured dial and flashes of colour with the orange chronograph/seconds hand, this watch has a particularly interesting dial. The ‘chequered flag’ style outer minute track on the dial really draws the eye and gives this watch a sporty feel. It was selected as the official Omega timer at the Pan-American Games in Winnipeg and the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico – any sports enthusiast will appreciate the history of this watch.

Gifts for Father’s Day – RAF – Sterile Dial – The Lost Navigator – Military Issued Watch

Budget – Low Watch Style – Military

Gifts for Father's Day

The ‘Lost Navi’ watches offer an interesting proposition, approximately 2000 pieces were produced of these sterile dial watches and are of monobloc construction to the tonneau shaped case. After many years of discussion amongst collectors they are still somewhat of a mystery. These watches are very seldom seen and especially in fantastic condition like the piece on offer here. So – a rare find guaranteed to make Father’s Day this year a very special one.

Gifts for Father’s Day – Tudor – Heritage Black Bay Blue

Budget – Medium Watch Style – Modern Sports

Gifts for Father's Day

The Black Bay range of Tudor watches has become one of, if not the most important models in Tudors modern range. Of late the original Black Bay has become more intriguing and of historic importance as time moves on they are becoming harder to find. As they become sought after by collectors, this watch we suspect they will come to market for resale less and less making this a great opportunity to buy a potential investment piece at a reasonable price – and besides this, it makes a stylish addition to any wardrobe! Any dad would be over the moon with this sporty number.

Gifts for Father’s Day – Longines 9ct Gold Dress Watch

Budget – Low Watch Style – Vintage Dress Watch

Gifts for Father's Day

Is dad a sophisticated sort? If so, he will be made up with this looker. This rather elegant 9 carat yellow gold dress watch from Longines is dated at around 1963 and oozes style and elegance. Longines have enjoyed a long and illustrious history, charming watch enthusiasts from all over the globe. Having created so many historically important watches over the years with some of the finest movements ever made, the heritage and importance of the brand means vintage offerings such as this have become much sought after. Treat dad to this beautiful dress watch and you’ll be drowning in brownie points this June!

Gifts for Father’s Day – Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date in 18ct Yellow Gold

Budget – High Watch Style – Vintage Dress Watch

Here we have for your delight, a vintage c.1978, Rolex Ref: 1803, ‘President’ Day-Date in yellow gold with a very rare factory diamond dial with a mixture of rounds and baguettes marking the hours and a fabulous bark bezel! Arguably the ‘King’ of watch brands, instantly recognisable and beautifully bling, this absolute stunner would make anybody’s day – including my own! If you are going to splurge on your dad this year, gifting this watch will make for an unforgettable Father’s Day and leave him utterly speechless – you can’t put a price on that!

Omega Seamaster ‘Aqua Terra’ Calendar Co-Axial Chronometer

Budget – Medium Watch Style – Modern Dress Watch

A classic yet robust wristwatch, the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra is an elegant take on the Omega sports watch making it a versatile wearer. In 2002 Omega introduced a new chapter in the Seamaster family, the Omega Aqua Terra, an everyday watch with bags of aesthetic appeal. This watch channels a sporty aesthetic whilst exuding class which is no easy task. The lines on the dial give a clean and contemporary look and the shape to the month and date function fits superbly with the pointed indices. This watch can be worn for every occasion and offers serious style and functionality combined. Dad will be looking dapper in this watch for years to come.

Bremont – Chronograph GMT

Budget – Medium Watch Style – Modern Sports Watch

Here we have a Bremont ALT1-ZT/51 Chronograph Chronometer with a GMT Hand. A 43mm case with original Bremont leather strap and pin buckle. Bremont was founded by brothers Nick and Giles English. The brothers had gained mechanical experience from their father Dr Euan English. This evolved from clock assembly, aeroplane- and yacht construction. On 4 March 1995 Euan English was killed and Nick was badly injured when their World War II-vintage Harvard aircraft crashed during a training flight for an air show. The crash spurred the brothers to create their own watch company. Immensely precise to chronometer standards, reliable and durable, Bremont watches are designed manufactured and assembled in England in limited numbers. Bremont’s emphasis on creating watches fit for the toughest of environments make this the perfect gift for ‘action dad’.

Panerai – Officine Luminor Submersible

Budget – Medium Watch Style – Vintage Sports Watch

Gifts for Father's Day

This is a personal favourite – I absolutely adore Panerai and would love to take this home for myself. This 1998 model is still in production today (an updated version) due to its popularity within the Panerai range but also it’s timeless look, but for the real collector this earlier reference with the Tritium dial is the one to have! So not only a beautiful watch, its slick design and timeless style offers the pleasure of owning a vintage watch with a current feel. You won’t go wrong treating pops to a Panerai, and he would be cock-a-hoop with this knockout.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual – Sea-Dweller Deepsea

Budget – High Watch Style – Modern Sports Watch

Gifts for Father's Day

Fix up, look sharp – back once again with a bit of a splurge, this Rolex is a real treat. What dad wouldn’t appreciate this stunning Rolex Oyster Sea Dweller, with a three-hand display ticking behind sapphire crystal glass that offers punctuality with poise? The black dial with polished and luminous applied hands and hour markers, and date display at the 3 o’clock position give functionality combined with the ultimate finesse as standard. The appeal of Rolex cannot be denied and this particular model will have dad drooling. If you can afford to splash out, this is the ‘Daddy Cool’ of watches.

A. Lange & Sohne – Signed Luftwaffe Issued German WWII Type A Observers Watch – Beobachtungs-Uhr

Budget – Medium Watch Style – Military

Gifts for Father's Day

Literally translated as ‘observation watch,’ Beobachtungs-uhren (B-Uhr) timepieces were issued to German Luftwaffe pilots and observers during World War II – regulated and tested to the highest chronometer standards for precise timekeeping. This watch was usually accompanied by a Luftwaffe Kadlec AK39 liquid compass wristwatch- and we’ve managed to source at auction an original one to sell as a package with this watch! An incredibly rare find, let alone in the condition that this one is in.
