East London’s brand-new rooftop bar, Florattica, has views stretching across iconic London landmarks from St Pauls, to Canary Wharf and the Thames. On the edge of The City, Florattica boasts seating that flows from the inside to an expansive heated and covered outdoor terrace, providing a wonderful spot for cocktails and small plates, high above the fast-paced city workers below.
The elegant and refined interiors will feature ceilings adorned with floral installations inspired by East London’s textile industry and the silk woven floral patterns created by local 17th century French Huguenots. As one of the most exciting new rooftop openings in London, the bar is tucked away on the 11th floor, making it an exclusive, sought-after venue for both summer and Christmas drinks and celebrations.
The cocktail menu is designed and created by Head Mixologist, Eleonora Esposito, and has been developed with premium spirits and local ingredients, providing a clean and crisp selection that represents a sensory journey through the elegant and aromatic world of flowers that Florattica takes its inspiration from.
Drinks include Alma, a herbal cocktail made with Casamigos Blanco, Hibiscus Amores Espadin, Ancho Reyes, Lavender Syrup and Citrus, Cyanar a savoury and herbal blend of Black Garlic Infused Tanqueray, Campari, Mancino Rosso and Clarified Artichoke Juice and a sweet and sour tipple, Inca made from El Gobernador, Maraschino, Marigold Syrup, Lemongrass Air and Citrus.
Non-alcoholic drinks are given just as much consideration, Elixir made with Three Spirit Elixir, Jasmine Cordial and Green Tea and the Aphrodita with Three Spirit Livener, Elderflower Cordial, Citrus being staples on the menu.
This impressive range of cocktails is accompanied by a simple yet refined à la carte menu, offering small plates, including Native Oysters with Champagne, Raspberry & White Balsamic Vinaigrette, Homemade Sushi Selection (Nigiri, Maki, Sashimi), and Burrata with marinated heritage Tomato with Focaccia Croutons and Basil Oil. The second section of the food menu is a selection of sharing dishes featuring a Charcuterie board with Coppa, Palma Ham, Bresaola, Salame Finocchiona to share between two, and Cheese Selection with Baron Bigod, Cashel Blue, Katherine, Sheep Rustler. The dessert menu is very enticingoffering a Lychee and Rose Mousse, crafted beautifully in the shape of a rose, alongside a Magnum Mousse.
Florattica evolves with the changing seasons. A terrace weekend brunch menu was launched in the summer for those looking for the perfect spot to brunch with friends whilst enjoying the sunshine and views. The menu is very reasonably priced at £35, featuring three courses starting with Pane carasau, Nocellara Olives and Basil Pesto. Appetisers follow with a choice of Prawn Dim Sum, Vegetarian Gyoza with soy or Cured meat selection. And to finish, choose from a Traditional Lobster Roll with Crème fraîche, Lemon Oil & Chives, Burrata or Asian Glazed Chicken skewers with Teriyaki Sauce (a firm favourite among the guests!).
A successful launch last Christmas resulted in a surge of festive parties hosted under the ceiling of flowers, and an even more spectacular New Year’s Eve party. This year, Florattica will be going one step further for their NYE celebrations to see in 2024 in style offering a panoramic view of fireworks around the city.
