Field Doctor: GLP-1 Medication Meal Planning Made Easy

Thursday 03rd Apr 2025 |

Science-backed frozen meal delivery service, Field Doctor, has unveiled it’s new ‘companion’ range for people on weight management programmes. This is the first of its kind in the UK, and is aimed at supporting people on their journey to lose weight as their dietary needs change to match their appetite change.

Field Doctor’s ‘companion’ range recognises that diet plays a crucial role in the success of weight management treatment, with each meal expertly designed by Field Doctor’s dietitian, Laura Tilt, in partnership with Abby Hookey, a registered dietitian specialising in obesity and diabetes, to cater for the needs, symptoms and side effects of those using weight loss treatments and programmes.

The meals in the range are nutrient dense, high in protein to maintain muscle mass, a source of fibre, vitamins + minerals and portion controlled to suit the reduced appetites which are experienced during treatment. The meals are delivered frozen directly to the door and can be heated and ready to eat in a matter of minutes.

Field Doctor’s weight management ‘companion’ meals are crafted by dietitians and chefs to provide optimal nutrition and maintain flavour as a priority. The smaller range includes meals such as:

  • Chicken, Pea + Asparagus Risotto – Combining roasted British chicken with a rich vegetable sauce infused with aromatic fresh herbs. The sauce is stirred through with wholesome brown rice and finished with spinach, asparagus, garden peas and parmesan.
  • Italian meatballs – Featuring British beef & whole grain meatballs in a rich tomato & vegetable sauce with spinach, wholegrain pasta & topped with parmesan.
  • Red Pesto + Roasted Vegetable Penne – Roasted courgettes, aubergine, and red peppers, perfectly combined with a rich tomato and borlotti bean sauce.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet alongside taking treatment can support steady energy levels, maintain muscle mass, and manage side effects like nausea and constipation. Field Doctor’s ‘companion’ meals provide up to 31 grams per serving and are naturally rich in wholefood ingredients like vegetables, wholegrains, and beans, and each is made using only extra virgin olive oil.

Dietitian at Field Doctor, Laura Tilt comments: “We know that eating well becomes even more important with a reduced appetite. Our weight management ‘companion’ meals can help you meet your nutritional needs, with portion sizes that can be adjusted as your appetite changes with your treatment”.

Field Doctor customer Natalie, who has trialled the newest range says: “I absolutely love Field Doctor meals. They genuinely are the perfect size. I often struggle to know what to cook because I don’t fancy much on my GLP-1 medication. Having them in the freezer takes the thought process out of mealtime and I know what I’m eating is good for me. Looking at the ingredient list and seeing absolutely no nasties, no preservatives, nothing I can’t pronounce gives me the confidence that I’m nourishing my body while still maintaining my weight loss”.
