Your Design Could Hit the Paddock – F1 Pit Crew Helmet Challenge Ends Soon

Formula 1 isn’t just about fast cars and podium celebrations – it’s about the incredible people behind the scenes who keep the action going. Now, two rising stars of the grid are putting you in the driver’s seat. Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson, up-and-coming talents racing for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, have posted a task on Airtasker inviting fans to submit their own helmet designs for their pit crew – but hurry, there’s just one week left to enter.

Hadjar, 21, a rising French talent, and Lawson, 22, from New Zealand, have already made their mark on F1 with their speed, skill, and fearless style. Now, the duo are turning their attention to the team behind the scenes, challenging fans to create something “big, bold and badass” to celebrate the unsung heroes who keep their cars in the fight every weekend.

“The pit crew have been crushing it, and we want to find someone who can design a special edition helmet for them,” Hadjar and Lawson explained. “Something wild, unforgettable, and creative as a thank you gift they’ll never forget. They’re the heartbeat of everything we do, so we want to create something as legendary as they are.”

Pit crews usually only make headlines when a stop goes wrong, but they are the backbone of F1 – performing two-second tyre changes, split-second repairs, and keeping cars alive under pressure. Now, your design could literally be on their heads at one of the biggest races of the season.

Hadjar and Lawson will personally choose their favourite submission, which will then be turned into a real helmet and unveiled at the Qatar Grand Prix in December 2025, worn trackside by the pit crew.

No design experience? No problem. The brief is open to everyone – artists, racing fans, doodlers, dreamers. There’s a £500 prize, but the real glory is seeing your creation in the paddock on race day.

Even Airtasker CEO Tim Fung says: “It’s not every day that everyday people get the chance to leave their mark on the world of F1.”

The countdown is on – submissions close 30th September. If you think your design has what it takes, submit it now!
