There’s something about Elemental Herbology that always feels a little bit luxurious without wandering into the world of silly price tags.

Their products manage to smell vaguely medicinal — but in the best possible way — like the scent that hits you when you step into a really expensive spa. I can never quite put my finger on it, but it’s lush.

At nearly 46, my skin has become as dry as a dog bowl of kibble, so I’m constantly on the lookout for great skincare that actually works for my age group. And if there’s one thing I’ll always make room for on my bathroom shelf, it’s a serum. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a gloopy night cream or a slightly greasy balm (they have their place — behind closed doors, usually), but serums are my true love. I’ve been using it consistently for about a month now, though only in the mornings, and it’s quickly become a favourite part of my routine. I’m not menopausal just yet, but I am perimenopausal, so I suspect I’m getting the lighter symptoms of what’s to come — and this serum feels like a gentle helping hand through that transition. My skin feels refreshed and smooth after each use, with a lovely subtle finish that sits beautifully under makeup. It’s lightweight, soothing, and genuinely feels like it’s doing something good the second you put it on. And, just as expected – it smells gorgeous. The scent is quite strong so if you are not a fan of that then this might not be quite the right fit for you.
