Dr. Melaxin Calcium Multi Balm Review: My Honest Results After Months of Use
TikTok has a habit of making everyday products look like miracle workers, and lately the viral obsession has been these Korean “volume balms” promising everything from blurred fine lines to reduced wrinkles, lifted under-eyes and instant dewiness. After watching endless creators glide them on with unbelievable before-and-afters, I kept seeing the Dr. Melaxin Cemenrete Calcium Multi Balm pop up the most — so that’s the one I bought. Actually, I bought two. Amazon had a deal and delivery was quicker, and I’ve now used them daily for months.
That means this review isn’t based on a first impression. It’s based on actual, long-term, real-life use — the kind TikTok rarely shows.
First Impressions: A Big Lip Balm for Your Face
Let’s start with the texture, because that’s the thing everyone seems to love.
The Dr. Melaxin balm looks and feels exactly like a scaled-up lip balm. Hard and waxy in the tube, it melts into a balmy, slightly oily layer once it hits the skin. The warmer the room — or your face — the more emollient it becomes.
There’s no fragrance, no tint, no sheen beyond the natural balmy finish.
It glides well, doesn’t pill, and sits comfortably under makeup if you use a light hand.
Honestly? It’s nice. It feels comforting on dry skin.
And as a nearly-46-year-old staring down the barrel of menopause, with all the delightful dryness, fine lines and hormonal texture that comes with this chapter of life, I don’t mind a product that simply makes my face feel less parched.
That’s partly why I’ve kept using it — I have one on my desk at work, one in my bag. It’s there, it’s easy, and it feels decadent to swipe on a bit of moisture whenever I want.
But here’s the thing: that’s all it really is. Moisture.
The rest of the hype? Not for me.
What the Product Claims to Do
Here’s where TikTok really turbocharges expectations.
The Dr. Melaxin Calcium Multi Balm — and its many copycat versions — typically claim to:
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
- Add volume or “fill” areas like under-eyes
- Improve elasticity with collagen
- Nourish and firm the skin
- Soften texture
- Visibly reduce puffiness
- Act as an all-in-one anti-ageing stick
The packaging highlights Calcium CX, collagen extract, and something called “volume multi balm technology,” implying that it can plump, smooth and visibly rejuvenate tired or ageing skin.
But let’s break that down realistically:
Collagen extract?
Topical collagen can moisturise, but it’s too large a molecule to penetrate the skin and actually boost collagen production. I’m actually rolling my eyes at collagen.
Calcium complexes?
Often included to support barrier function, but not typically associated with visible anti-ageing effects. This product i actually think would be a good skin barrier aid and I like it for that. The sheen it provides possibly give a little protection from pollutants.
“Volume” effects?
This usually just refers to emollients that sit on top of the skin, giving it a temporarily smoother, hydrated look. It is not the same as dermal fillers, despite the way TikTok sometimes frames it.
In other words:
There’s nothing in this formula that would genuinely erase under-eye bags or lift the face.
And after months of use, my results back that up.
My Results After Months of Daily Use
Let me be very honest:
I have no bad experiences to report. It didn’t irritate my skin, clog my pores, sting, or feel heavy.
But the TikTok transformation videos claiming instant smoothing, disappearing under-eye bags, or dramatically firmer skin?
Absolutely not my experience.
My under-eye area looks exactly the same as it did before.
My fine lines? Still there.
Wrinkles? Still there.
Texture? Unchanged.
What has changed is how often I reapply moisture during the day — because this balm is pleasant to use.
I genuinely feel for some of the TikTok sellers being dogpiled in their comments, accused of filters or manipulation. I’m not here to speculate — maybe some results are exaggerated, maybe some people really do see a noticeable difference.
But I can say with full confidence:
my face has shown zero structural improvement using this product.
So… Is It Worth Buying?
If you want a nice-feeling moisturising balm that’s convenient, portable, and satisfying to apply, sure — you’ll enjoy it.
If you want an anti-ageing miracle in stick form?
This isn’t it.
For me, this product sits firmly in the category of:
“Perfectly fine — but not life-changing.”
I’ll finish the two tubes I bought because they’re pleasant to use, not because they’re transforming my skin. And while I’m more than happy to use something that makes dryness feel less aggressive, this isn’t something I’d rush to repurchase for results.
There are skincare products that genuinely live up to their hype — and I’ll be putting together a list of the ones that actually impressed me.
Sadly, the Dr. Melaxin Calcium Multi Balm didn’t make the cut – but if you want to try it for yourself I bought it from Amazon.
