Veganuary is officially here and it’s time to toast to the occasion with some delicious cocktails.

From long island iced teas to classic mojitos, there are many common cocktails that are traditionally vegan. The drinks experts at The Bottle Club have compiled a list of plant-based cocktails you can easily make for yourself at home, helping you celebrate Veganism in style.

1. Cocktails For Veganuary – Maple Whisky Sour

With an adventurous blend of bourbon, maple syrup and fresh citrus, a Maple Whiskey Sour is the perfect mix of smokey and sweet.

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine your whiskey, lemon juice, ice and maple syrup. Give the contents a good shake.

  2. Strain the mixture into a glass, drizzle with your maple syrup and garnish with a citrus peel.

2. Cocktails For Veganuary – Strawberry Pomegranate Mojito

A mojito is a traditional vegan cocktail, but why not go the extra mile this Veganuary and make a Strawberry Pomegranate Mojito? This refreshing drink will no doubt transport you back to those warm summer days at the beach.

  1. Mash together your strawberries, and then add your fresh mint leaves and lime juice.

  2. Pour your mixture into two shot glasses and fill to the top with ice.

  3. Then add your two shots of rum and pomegranate juice and mix together.

  4. Finally, top your drink with club soda and serve! Garnish with fresh strawberries.

3. Cocktails For Veganuary – Pina Colada

A Pina Colada is the very definition of a show-stopping cocktail. Sweet, fruity and frothy, this much-loved drink has been the life and soul of the party for many years – and did you know it’s also completely vegan?

  • 150ml pineapple juice
  • 50ml coconut cream
  • 50ml Havana Club Anejo 3 Anos Rum
  • 50ml coconut cream
  • 1 tsp agave syrup
  • Ice
  • Orange slices for garnishing

Method

  1. Put your pineapple juice, agave syrup, coconut cream, rum and ice in a blender until you’ve got a smooth consistency.

  2. Then, pour your liquid into a glass and, for that classic party vibe, serve with a straw. Garnish with orange slices.

4. Cocktails For Veganuary – Creamy Espresso Martini

Your favourite 5 o’clock pick me up can also easily be made vegan. You just need to simply replace the traditional coffee liqueur with a vegan one – The Bottle Club recommends Tia Maria Dark Coffee Liqueur.

Method

  1. Start by making your sugar syrup. For this, you need to put your caster sugar in a saucepan, add 50ml of water and bring to the boil.

  2. Once your sugar mixture has fully dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool.

  3. After your syrup has cooled down, pour 1 tablespoon into a shaker with your ice, espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur. Give the contents a good shake.

  4. Strain into your glasses and garnish with coffee beans on top.

5. Cocktails For Veganuary – Pineapple and Mango Rum Punch

Introducing another cocktail that will bring back the taste of summer – the Pineapple and Mango Rum Punch. Zesty and refreshing, this drink is a definite party-pleaser and will make you feel like you are in the Caribbean.

  • 90ml pineapple juice
  • 90ml Captain Morgan Coconut Rum
  • 30ml mango juice
  • 30ml orange juice
  • Splash of grenadine
  • Lime slices and orange zest for garnishing

Method

  1. Combine and stir your pineapple, mango, orange juice and rum.

  2. Pour this mixture into a glass over your ice.

  3. Add a splash of grenadine to bring some colour to your drink.

  4. Garnish with lime slices and orange zest for a finishing touch.
