Chai Doughnut Anyone? Dishoom and Doh’Hut Announce Collab Ahead of Leeds Opening

Wednesday 15th Jul 2026 |

One of the UK’s most cherished restaurants, Dishoom, is marking its long-awaited opening in Leeds this coming August and to celebrate, is teaming up with Leeds beloved institution Doh’hut to create a limited-edition doughnut special.

Available from Monday 13th July for two weeks only – until 26th July – Leeds locals can enjoy a taste of Dishoom’s much-loved Chai ahead of the restaurant’s opening on 3rd August.

Always championing the very best local neighbourhoods it calls home, Dishoom is partnering with Doh’hut in celebration of one of the city’s independent food success stories.

Born in Leeds, Doh’hut has built a devoted following, with every doughnut still handmade, freshly fried and generously filled using carefully sourced ingredients. Built on craft, consistency and determination, Doh’hut’s ability to make something familiar feel exceptional mirrors that of Dishoom. The collaboration also celebrates Leeds itself, as a city that has become one of the UK’s most exciting food destinations, with hospitality brands and independent businesses championing one another.

A warm, spice-laden indulgence, the limited-edition doughnut has been crafted using Dishoom’s house Chai. The chai-sugared doughnut is generously filled with a silky chai-infused crème pâtissière, and topped with a decadent chocolate truffle with a ginger chai caramel centre to add a rich, velvety finish with a gentle warming spice. The final flourish of crushed pistachios provides a satisfying crunch and a subtle nutty contrast, creating a beautifully balanced doughnut treat that’s both elegant and irresistibly indulgent.

The partnership comes ahead of Dishoom’s long-awaited Leeds café on Vicar Lane, with a soft launch from 3rd August, where diners will be able to enjoy 50% off food before its official opening on 14th August.

Serving Bombay-inspired comfort food from breakfast through to dinner, the menu features favourites including the Bacon Naan Roll, Chicken Ruby, House Black Daal and Pistachio Kulfi. Walk-ins are welcomed throughout the day to embrace Dishoom’s more spontaneous way of dining, with tables set aside each day for guests to swing by and be seated swiftly. For those that prefer to book, reservations are opening very soon for breakfast and lunch, with limited evening bookings available for dinner.

Kavi Thakrar, co-founder, also known as Head Babu, at Dishoom spoke of the partnership: “We always want to champion the local community in every city we open a café, and for our new opening in the city of Leeds, collaborating with Doh’hut, such a beloved brand by the city, felt like a joyful opportunity to share our house Chai with Leeds before opening.”

Tom Stafford, founder of Doh’hut added “As a city, we’ve been patiently waiting for Dishoom to come to Leeds. It’s such an honour for us to collaborate and create this bespoke doughnut which showcases one of the distinct and special flavours, Dishoom’s house Chai, ahead of opening. I hope Leeds enjoys the limited-edition doughnut as a preview of what Dishoom will have to offer our city.”

The Chai doughnut will be available from 13th-26th July at £4.75, exclusively at Doh’hut, 2 Trevelyan Square, Leeds LS1 6ED.
