Aldi’s Viral Loaded Dips Return Just in Time for Picnic Season
If your Bank Holiday plans involve sunshine, snacks and a picnic blanket, Aldi may have just made your next supermarket trip a lot more tempting.
The budget retailer has officially brought back its hugely popular Specially Selected Loaded Dips, after the range gained attention on social media last year and quickly became a favourite among shoppers looking for affordable “picky bits” alternatives.
With picnic season now in full swing, the return of the dips is likely to be welcome news for anyone planning garden get-togethers, park lunches or easy no-cook weekend spreads.
The Viral Aldi Dips Are Back
Available in stores now, Aldi’s loaded dips (£1.99, 170g) return in two much-loved flavours:
- Chicken Caesar
- Indian Mint Yoghurt & Mango Chutney
Joining them this year are two new additions:
- Whipped Feta
- Coronation Chicken
The dips were praised by shoppers when they first launched, with social media users calling them “amazing” and saying they “love them”.
For many customers, they became a quick way to recreate the premium picnic food trend without paying premium supermarket prices.
Aldi Says They’re Half the Price of M&S
Aldi says its Chicken Caesar Loaded Dip costs £1.99, compared with a similar M&S Topped Chicken Caesar Dip at £3.95.
For families stocking up for multiple gatherings this spring and summer, those savings can quickly add up.
New Houmous Flavours Land Too
The supermarket has also expanded its Specially Selected Extra Smooth Houmous range (£1.59), adding:
- Red Pepper
- Sriracha & Hot Honey
The hot honey flavour taps into one of the biggest food trends of the year, while the red pepper version offers a sweeter Mediterranean-style option.
The Picky Bits Range Expands on 29th April
From 29th April, Aldi is also adding more summer sharing food to stores, including:
- Pizza Pops
- Cheese Bites
- Mini Chicken Kiev Bites
- Cocktail Sausages
- Spinach & Feta Parcels
- Tomato & Mozzarella Pastries
- Mini Rolls
- Coleslaws and potato salads
For many shoppers, Aldi’s seasonal picnic range has become a yearly highlight, offering the kind of grazing-board food usually associated with more expensive supermarkets.
Why Aldi’s Timing Is Smart
With Bank Holidays, warmer weather and summer entertaining around the corner, demand for easy sharing food is about to rise sharply.
And with many households still watching spending, lower-cost alternatives to premium supermarket picnic ranges are likely to prove especially popular this year.
If last year’s reaction is anything to go by, these dips may not stay on shelves for long.
