How to style trending charm necklaces and bracelets

Tuesday 08th Apr 2025 |

Charm jewellery is currently a hot trend, with bag charms on the cat walk at Miu Miu and Balenciaga shows, and charm bracelets having a moment on TikTok. Luxury jewellery brand Glamira has prepared some tips on how to style charm jewellery in 2025, with comments from Ozge Seren, Jewellery expert at Glamira.

One reason why charm necklaces and bracelets are so popular right now might be the fact that they can often be personalised, with the wearer choosing the perfect charms to reflect their style and personality. Some jewellery comes with a careful selection of themed charms already attached, and some pieces come with removable charms so the wearer can mix and match depending on how they feel on the day.

Ozge Seren, jewellery expert at Glamira, comments:

“Charm jewellery is back – of course, it’s related to the Y2K trend of recent years, and charm bracelets are especially nostalgic. Incorporating precious stones like blue diamonds into charm jewellery can give it a deluxe edge and a sense of elegance. If you don’t like whimsical jewellery, you’re in luck, as the new wave of charm jewellery can be surprisingly tough and edgy, with big, chunky charms that have some heft.”

Tips for styling charm jewellery

  • Modern, chunky styles are now just as popular as the dainty charm bracelets that were trending in the 90s and 2000s. Why not go for a thick, paperclip style chain with heavier charms? Or stick to the classics and choose a lightweight piece.
  • You can also style a charm bracelet as a bag charm by attaching it to the clasp of your handbag.
  • These pieces look gorgeous stacked together with other items of jewellery. For instance, a short charm necklace that rests just below the collarbone can be balanced with a shorter chain or delicate choker.
  • Curate your selection of charms. If you’re putting together a charm bracelet, you might choose to go for an eclectic, maximalist selection – or you might prefer to choose charms in similar colours, or which share a theme.
