From sunrise hikes to peaceful valley walks, visitors can experience the natural beauty and stunning landscapes in the Capital of the Alps.

Ranging from beginner friendly walks to challenging inclines, here are five Autumn hikes in the Innsbruck region:

  1. Nockspitze Peak Sunrise Hike
    Witness the golden sunrise over Innsbruck from the 2404-metre summit of Nockspitze. This moderate 2.5-hour hike rewards early risers with breathtaking views of the Inn Valley.
  2. Mieming Plateau: The “Fiery Larches”
    In late autumn, the larch trees on the Mieming Plateau turn vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red. This 45-minute circular hike, ideal for families, offers a spectacular display of colours and interesting facts about the local flora.
  3. Zirbenweg Trail to Tulfeinalm
    Enjoy a relaxing 2.5-hour hike through ancient Swiss Stone Pine trees on the Zirbenweg trail. Starting from Patscherkofel summit, this path offers picturesque views of the Nordkette range and leads to the cozy Tulfeinalm mountain inn.
  4. Sellraintal Valley Hike
    For those seeking peace, the Sellraintal valley offers a serene escape just 30 km from Innsbruck. This leisurely hike leads to the Juifenalm mountain inn, where visitors can savour local delicacies and soak in the panoramic mountain-scape.
  5. Inn Promenade Walk to Alpine Zoo
    Stroll along the Inn River as autumn’s golden hues reflect in the blue waters. This relaxed walk can be extended to visit the Alpine Zoo, home to over 150 species of Alpine animals.
