Modern Art and Hearty Dining in Marble Arch

Monday 30th Sep 2024 |

There’s no doubt London is positively bursting with things to do, places to explore and bars and restaurants to enjoy. And it never stands still, there’s always something new on the horizon. Like the recently opened Moco Museum in Marble Arch.

Following the success of the ventures in Amsterdam and Barcelona, London’s version is packed with many vibrant works by celebrated modern, contemporary artists and rising stars. The large light-filled space is a joy to meander through with so much to see including iconic works from the likes of Warhol, Haring, Banksy, Basquiat, Kusama, Hirst, Koons and Wesselman.

Set over three floors, it’s the opportunity to get lost in an imaginative and inspirational world while exploring how art evolves through the generations and both reflects and influences changes in society.

The exhibition is both powerfully impactful and enjoyable at the same time with some mind-blowing immersive digital works, too.

And it’s just across the road from the fabulous SOUND London, the perfect place for refreshment after our cultural fix. SOUND is on the ground floor of the Cumberland Hotel. It’s a three-in-one destination set across a huge space, encompassing an American cafe, a sports bar and a cocktail bar.

The menu serves dishes with a modern spin on American classics. Think steaks, ribs, substantial sandwiches, fajitas and nachos. There’s also a Burger Studio section with its comprehensive selection including the irresistible (and huge) London Double Decker and BBQ pulled pork. Dishes are tasty and hearty and charmingly served with the help of the cutest of robot waitresses called Bella.

On the drinks front there’s a tempting cocktail menu including classic and signature options as well as concoctions unique to SOUND. There’s also a shots section and an extensive selection of wine, beers and spirits. Something to please everyone.

A lot is happening at SOUND London. The walls are adorned with memorabilia to captivate music and sports fans and there are flat-screen TVs everywhere – perfect for catching the latest sporting action. There’s live music seven days a week and it’s the perfect late-night venue, open until 2am from Thursday to Sunday.

No matter what time of the day you visit Moco (and we highly recommend that you do), SOUND London is the place to go afterwards. And it couldn’t be more convenient as they’re only a minute apart. Both great additions to London’s cultural and entertainment scenes. london.mocomuseum.com https://sound.london/
