Set to dazzle and delight, head to the bar this Christmas as the Octagon Bar at Sopwell House unveils a bespoke menu of elegant cocktails inspired by the nation’s favourite tinned treats.
Marrying sweet nostalgia with mixology, chocolate aficionados can sip away on a collection of six tipples which pay homage to the classic flavours of Quality Street – from the iconic purple one to a sweet toffee penny.
Available now until 2nd January, the confectionary cocktail collection has been masterfully created by Head Bartender, Adam Jobson, using a variety of premium spirits and liqueurs to replicate the renowned flavours.
Priced at £16 each, highlights include The Purple One, often touted as the most popular in the tin, featuring a smooth blend of Diplomático Rum, chocolate liqueur, butterscotch, Frangelico and vanilla syrup; and the zesty Orange Crème made with Cointreau, Grand Marnier orange liqueur, clarified chocolate liqueur and lemon. Coconut fans can look to the Coconut Éclair, created with chocolate cream liqueur, coconut and topped with homemade vanilla cream, whilst the line up also includes the Strawberry Delight, Caramel Swirl and creamy Toffee Penny.
For those who don’t fancy chocolate, the stunning bar and lounge also offers an extensive wine, spirit and cocktail list, as well as low and non-alcoholic cocktails. There is also a concise menu of light bar nibbles to pair, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of the bar’s plush velvet chairs with views of the hotel’s picturesque front lawn.
Whether looking for a stylish bar without heading for the capital, a pre-dinner aperitif or for a night cap to end the evening on a high (and sweet) note, the Octagon Bar is an ideal spot for couples, friends and intimate groups to celebrate this festive season.
Open seven days a week from 12pm-12am, take your holiday drinks to a new level at the Octagon Bar this Christmas. Reserve a spot at the bar by calling 01727 864477.
