FESTIVE menu lovers rejoice – Indegno, Brick Lane’s latest fast-casual Italian restaurant serving the best food staples of Bologna, is serving up its limited-edition Christmas crescentina, available now
The brand specialises in the crescentina – a traditional Italian street food snack comprised of a light fried dough that is served folded and filled with authentic Italian ingredients – as well as famously fried tortellini and cappellacci served with parmesan cream.
The aptly named ‘Christmastina’ is an homage to the traditional north Italian Christmas lunch and will feature slow cooked beef, potato puree, and a delicious combination of mustard and honey – reminiscent of the Italian mostarda – all served in Indegno’s classic golden fried dough.
Priced at £8.90, the tasty new treat is perfect for lunch, as an on-the-go snack, or a post-pub indulgence, but it won’t be available for long. Indegno has revealed that the Christmas treat will only be available until 24 December.
Andrea Liotta, co-founder of Indegno, said: “We wanted to create something unique for the festive season to mark our first Christmas serving crescentine and other Bologna-born eats to the people of London, and have drawn on inspiration from Italy and the UK to create our latest limited-edition snack.
“We combined the traditional elements of a classic north Italian beef and potato dinner, but the mostarda element adds the quintessentially British flavour of mustard to the mix to give it that extra taste kick. As a small and agile business, we’re able to draw on different flavour trends and innovate our menu, and we look forward to experimenting with our offering further in the new year.”
To take a bite of Bologna’s Christmas dish, head to its new restaurant at 104 Brick Lane, Shoreditch, E1 6RL before 24 December to get into the festive spirit.
Indegno is open 12:00am-11:00pm Sunday to Friday, 12:00am-11:30pm Friday to Saturday and will be closed for the festive break on 24-26 December 2023, as well as 31 December-1 January 2024.
