Rain Set to Stop as Mini Heatwave Hits the UK This June

UK mini heatwave June 2025

After a Dry Spell, the UK Welcomes Rain — But a Mini Heatwave Is on the Way

After three weeks of dry, sunny weather, much of the UK finally saw a return of rain — a welcome change for gardens, pollen sufferers, and parched lawns. While the bank holiday weekend washout wasn’t ideal for outdoor plans, the brief burst of showers came as a bit of relief.

But don’t pack away your sunglasses just yet. Things are set to shift again this weekend, with forecasters predicting a mini heatwave for early June. Warmer days, clearer skies and a short-lived summer preview could be on the way.

🌦️ The Forecast: What to Expect

According to the Met Office and other weather experts, a high-pressure system is building, set to replace the unsettled conditions with more stable, sunny weather. By the first week of June, parts of the UK — especially the south and southeast — could see temperatures climb into the mid-20s°C.

While not officially a heatwave by strict meteorological standards, this period of warmth will be notably hotter than average for early June.
