Discover a traditional summer garden at The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences, in the heart of London’s Mayfair, complete with a delicious Summer Spritz Menu in partnership with Hayman’s Gin

Drawing inspiration from a classic English Summer Garden, The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences has transformed its terrace into a natural haven adorned with blooming floral displays. Already home to a verdant 239m2 Living Wall which removes CO2 whilst contributing to healthy O2 levels , the hotel is extending its green ethos to The Terrace, which officially opened to the public on the 14th of June. In collaboration with award-winning London gin brand, Hayman’s, the five-star hotel will also be introducing a quintessentially British Summer Spritz menu, crafted using Hayman’s ‘The Original London Dry Gin’ and channelling the shared ‘independent spirit’ of both of the much-loved brands.

The exclusive outdoor terrace on Piccadilly, with capacity for 26 guests, allows visitors to the Mayfair hotel to dine and drink al fresco whilst overlooking the vast expanse of Green Park and soaking up the buzz of the city. Guests are invited to shelter from the sun (or summer rain) under parasols whilst sipping on a signature Summer Spritz cocktail and relaxing amongst the plush cushions and blankets. The same wildflowers that adorn The Athenaeum Hotel’s renowned Living Wall will feature as focal points throughout the outdoor space, transporting visitors to an oasis of flora and foliage in the heart of one of London’s most iconic streets.

The new Summer Spritz Terrace menu embodies the refined flavours of an English Summer Garden, evoking nostalgia for sun-soaked days of the past. Guests can treat themselves to some Hayman’s classics, London Spritz made up of Hayman’s London Dry Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, prosecco; or a Peach & Rose made with Hayman’s Peach & Rose, prosecco, sugar syrup and soda. Alternatively, guests can indulge in elevated cocktail classics with the hotel’s take on a Pimm’s and lemonade with their Hayman’s Cup made with Hayman’s Exotic Citrus Gin, Pimm’s and Lemonade, or the hotel’s signature, a reinvented take on a classic. Atherol Spritz is made using Hayman’s London Dry Gin, Aperol, Cointreau and Grapefruit Juice. Each spritz is intentionally garnished with flowers and fruit, to bring a touch of the blooming floral display to every sip. What’s more, the delicious spritzers will be topped with a mini charcuterie board*, of welcome nibbles, which will taste just as delicious as it will look on guests’ Instagram!

The Athenaeum Hotel and Residence’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in the terrace’s new menus, which have been printed on seeded English Wildflower paper. The new menus have been purposefully designed to help share the magic of nature beyond just the hotel terrace, with the seeds present in the menu matching those of the plants in the hotel’s iconic Living Wall, with guests being encouraged to take one home as a keepsake to plant in their own garden.
