Spice Up Mother’s Day with a Flavourful Feast at Babur

Thursday 15th Feb 2024 |

This Mother’s Day (Sunday 10th March), treat mum to a delicious meal that will whisk her taste-buds away to India, at acclaimed modern Indian restaurant Babur in Forest Hill.

Babur’s team of talented chefs have meticulously curated a delightful feasting menu, featuring the spectacular pièce de résistance of a slow-cooked shoulder of lamb.

To kick off the celebrations in style, raise a glass to Mum with a glass of bubbles or one of Babur’s beautifully balanced cocktails. Expertly crafted by their skilled mixologist, Rupam, the ‘Pink Fizz’ features a unique blend of Campari, pink grapefruit liquor, orange bitters and Prosecco, providing the perfect tipple to toast Mum on 10th March.

Then, sink your teeth into starters including Babur’s chargrilled lamb seekh kebab, a succulent delight infused with aromatic spices or the nation’s all-time favourite classic chicken tikka, a timeless dish that never fails to captivate. And don’t forget the oven-roasted crusted potato wedges—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned with the chef’s special blend of spices.

Prepare for an unforgettable culinary experience as you move on to the mains. Delight in the succulent baby tandoori chicken, complemented by caramelized onions that add an irresistible twist. Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of the seasonal roast vegetable jalfrezi. Savor the rich and creamy dal Makhani, a classic Punjabi lentil curry simmered to perfection with aromatic spices, butter, and cream. And don’t miss the Punjabi veg biryani, a fragrant masterpiece of basmati rice cooked with an assortment of vegetables and aromatic spices. However, the true star of the show is Babur’s roast shoulder of lamb, marinated with dark rum and chef’s secret spices—a true culinary masterpiece.

No Indian feast is complete without the perfect accompaniment of freshly baked naan bread, ready to mop up every last drop of those tantalising aromatic sauces.

Babur’s Mother’s Day buffet can be booked from noon until 4pm on Sunday 10th March and costs £32.95 for adults and £20.95 for children 7 – 12 years old. Children under 7 eat free.
