RAGGED ROBIN GODALMING

Heartwood Inns, the award-winning pub group, is delighted to announce the opening of The Ragged Robin, a beautifully refurbished pub with 19 rooms on the edge of the historic market town of Godalming, Surrey. Nestled alongside the River Wey and surrounded by meadows, it’s the perfect base for countryside getaways, midweek escapes, and riverside adventures.

The Ragged Robin has undergone a multi-million-pound renovation and offers Heartwood’s signature blend of charm, comfort and sustainability. Whether you’re after a cosy corner for a drink, a leisurely lunch, a weekend escape or a summer evening in the garden, The Ragged Robin has something for everyone.

A Pub That Celebrates its Local Roots

The Ragged Robin takes its name from a delicate wildflower found in the local meadows and reflects Heartwood’s commitment to preserving and celebrating the local landscape. The interiors are full of rustic character with open fireplaces, comfortable nooks, and a bright, airy garden room offering beautiful views across the newly landscaped garden and River Wey.

Guests can explore the bar’s extensive drinks list, featuring local ales from Surrey Hills and Hogs Back breweries, an expertly curated wine selection and seasonal cocktails inspired by the local area.

Dishes include grilled trout with homemade tomato sauce and ice cream served with an ultimate toppings platter (£2 supplement) which includes mini marshmallows, strawberries, chocolate sauce and more.

On Sundays, the pub serves a classic selection of roasts including 30 day dry-aged beef from Aubrey Allen served with all the trimmings including bottomless Yorkshires, gravy and roast potatoes.

The garden terrace is the perfect place for summer dining, with 124 alfresco covers, a dedicated garden bar, and views of the river that rival any country escape. There’s even a private mooring, so guests arriving by boat can come ashore for lunch or a night’s stay.
