Jersey, located in the Channel Islands, is a captivating island that offers a unique blend of stunning landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture.
Situated just off the coast of France, this small island boasts an impressive coastline with sandy beaches that stretch for miles and one of the most impressive, in my opinion, is St Brelade’s Bay. With its crystal-clear turquoise waters and golden sandy beaches, it is considered one of the most beautiful spots on the island.
The bay offers breathtaking views and is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and various water sports activities such as surfing and paddleboarding. Surrounded by stunning cliffs and lush greenery, it also provides great opportunities for leisurely walks along its scenic coastal paths.
St. Brelade’s Bay is not only a haven for nature enthusiasts but also boasts a vibrant beachfront with cute cafes, stylish restaurants, and the jewel in the crown St Brelade’s Bay Hotel.
Enjoying a prime beachfront location and set amongst five acres of lush palm tree lined gardens akin to a Caribbean island, the grounds boast a heated pool, comfortable sun deck, full size tennis courts and plenty of shady corners to relax in.
We arrived for the weekend in mid September and got very lucky indeed with the weather so we were able to take full advantage of the outdoor facilities, sunbathing by the jewel-like pool and trying our hand at a spot of tennis which was great fun! After our exertions (lol) we indulged in a refreshing bottle of wine on the beachfront patio and enjoyed the incredible views of St Brelade’s Bay which seems to be a hive of activity. Residents and holiday makers alike are down on the golden sands as the sun rises enjoying a little light exercise or a dip in the azul blue waters. We were amazed by the incredible views offered at the hotel and absolutely delighted to see a pod of dolphins frolicking off the coast. If you haven’t visited Jersey, you really must!
St Brelade’s Bay Hotel offers much more than outdoor adventure and should you wish to visit over the winter months you will find a luxurious haven to unwind and relax in. The hotel offers various accommodation options, we were lucky enough to reserve the sprawling penthouse suite on the top floor which boasts not one but two beach view balconies, an opulent lounge and a dining room – it actually could have been a rather decadent home! We both said we could live there! The huge bedroom and lavish bathroom with a range of luxurious L’occitane en Provence toiletries, fluffy robes, and comfy slippers, all make for a rather grandiose stay.
The hotel offers various categories of accommodation and suites to cater for every traveller so whether you are staying for a celebration, a romantic weekend or a family holiday, they have something to suit.
The dining options are just as expansive and you really can go back in time with the elegant surrounds and service at The Bay restaurant. Think crisp white table linens, impeccable service, live piano music and a menu full of locally sourced ingredients and you’ll be somewhere close – occasion dining with incredible views, definitely worth getting dressed up for!
There is a more casual dining option serving light lunches and snacks throughout the day, or you could indulge in afternoon tea, in fact it’s a must, relax in the beautiful lounge boasting huge cloud like sofas which beckon to be sunken into, and sip a glass of fizz with a sumptuous scone filled with Jersey cream and their delicious and famous Black Butter. The options are endless.
If you feel inclined to be a little more active you can enjoy the extensive facilities in the health club without having to brave the weather should it be inclement. Boasting an impressive 1648 square metres, health club offers a state of the art gym complete with a 20 metre swimming pool, luxury changing rooms, group exercise studio, spa pool and steam room.
There is also a spa which focuses on wellbeing with holistic principles, combining ancient wisdom and modern expertise. The treatment menu offers an extensive variety of health and beauty enhancing treatments – reservations are required for treatments but they are absolutely incredible to get organised and plan your pampering in advance!
Jersey is wonderful and we had such a fun mini break, have you been? Did you know it’s just a 40 minute flight from the UK? It’s worth looking at for long weekends and holidays, if you fancy it next summer, then I suggest you make early reservations to get the best deals.
If you fancy a winter break in Jersey then St Brelade’s Bay Hotel are offering some great deals. You can enjoy dinner bed and breakfast from just 169GBP for two people per night with a sea view balcony room! There are lots of options and the hotel offers incredible value for money. My advice? Pack your bags, book a flight (or boat) and head off to St Brelade’s Bay Hotel in Jersey this winter, it’s my new favourite place and I cannot wait to return. Tell them I sent you.
