Introducing the ultimate beach-side pop-up serving FREE, restaurant-quality main meals inspired by Brits’ most commonly wasted foods. Popping up at the renowned Jurassic Coast from Thursday 31st August – Sunday 3rd September. Serving British culinary classics with a tasty French twist, donations are welcomed, with 100% of these being given to charity.
Manon Lagrève, Great British Bake Off star, Frenchie cook, and baker has partnered with Boursin, the nation’s favourite indulgent cheese[ii] to bring a taste of French cuisine to the golden sandy beaches of Bournemouth with a limited-edition Pop-up Bistro this summer!
Serving FREE, restaurant-quality main meals, diners are encouraged to enjoy the dishes on a ‘pay-what-you-can’ basis, with all donations going to FoodCycle, a nationwide charity that uses surplus food, spare kitchen spaces, and volunteers to create three-course meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation.
The Bistro has launched off the back of brand-new research by Boursin, which found 43% of Brits admit to wasting food at least once a week during the summer months and 56% don’t know what to do with leftover food or ingredients. To inspire consumers to elevate everyday dishes and combat food waste, Manon has created a selection of simple but inspiring recipes for Boursin lovers to enjoy, using commonly wasted ingredients.
Providing a solution to food waste and uninspiring beach picnics, beachgoers and passersby are invited to dine-in at the Bistro to enjoy Brits’ favourite culinary classics with a unique French twist, exclusively created by Manon using locally sourced Dorset produce.
From delicious creamy plant-based Boursin pasta, to Boursin & spinach stuffed chicken roulade, almond and Boursin grilled cod with frites and peas, or a vegetable Provençal Boursin tian, there’s something for everyone, as well as mouth-watering side dishes on offer too.
Manon says, “This was a pleasure for me to think up these recipes for the beach-side Bistro, as I always have Boursin on-hand in my fridge to elevate dishes which I regularly create for my family and friends. The recipes I have created for the pop-up Bistro are inspired by being a French girl, but also super easy for everyone to re-create at home with leftovers you may have. Et voilà!”.
With almost half of Brits claiming that food is one of the best things about summer, the pop-up Boursin Bistro is providing the beach-side summer solution to disheartened dishes. The bistro will be located right on the sand, between Who Dares Gyms and El Murrino beach restaurant (coordinates: 50.7176418077962, – 1.8646443651730515) from Thursday 31st August – Sunday 3rd September. Opening hours: 12pm – 19:00pm and 18:00 on Sunday. No need to pre-book, just turn up!*
A chance to dine and relax with friends and family on the stunning decked terrace right on the seafront, Boursin makes every moment more delicious…see you at the beach.
