Jen Nash, Head of Design at Magnet comments: “Over the past year, people have been getting creative with their kitchen spaces, with over 74.5M posts on TikTok under the tag ‘kitchen inspiration’.

2025 is an exciting year for kitchen design, as people will continue to grow bolder and get more creative in the ways they decorate their spaces. As the kitchen continues to evolve, the following trends are sure to inspire and redefine the heart of your home.

The kitchen trends we can expect to see EVERYWHERE in 2025

Green is the kitchen colour of 2025

Green has taken the interior design world by storm over the past year, with millions of people embracing earthy tones within their homes. This trend is set to continue in 2025, with searches for ‘green kitchen’ spiking by 190% over the past month and there being over 25.9M posts under the tag ‘green kitchens’ on TikTok.

Jen Nash comments: “Over the past year, green has become one of the most popular colours in interior spaces and this trend is set to continue well into 2025. Earthy shades such as sage, olive, thyme and forest green will be embraced within kitchen spaces, both on walls as well as through accents and accessories throughout kitchens.

Known for evoking a sense of freshness and vitality, green appeals to homeowners who want to connect with nature through their design and decor choices. It’s also an ideal way to bring vibrancy and character to your kitchen space without overwhelming it.”

Demand for Yellow Kitchens is on the rise

Yellow is an emerging kitchen colour trend for 2025 with searches for ‘yellow kitchen inspiration’ spiking by 200% in the past month.

Over the past year, there has been a growing interest in ‘dopamine decor’ in which homeowners are opting for brighter and more creative choices in their interiors. With over 47 million posts on TikTok under the tag ‘yellow kitchens’, homeowners are set to embrace yellow, in all of its hues, throughout 2025.

Jen comments: “Yellow is a colour synonymous with positivity and is renowned for its mood-boosting properties, as it’s thought to help release serotonin in the brain.

Sparking feelings of energy, positivity and happiness, coming home to a yellow kitchen can very quickly put a smile on your face. Whilst it may be a colour usually associated with the summer months, it can transform a property and uplift a home even in the darker months of winter.”

The Kitchen Trends we can expect to see NOWHERE in 2025

White and Black are kitchen colours of the past

2025 is set to be a year full of colour, with homeowners embracing colour in almost every aspect of design. This colour revival will result in black-and-white kitchen interiors dropping out of style in 2025. This fall in favour can already be seen in search trend data, with searches over the past month for ‘black kitchen design’ and ‘white kitchen design’ falling by 33%.

Jen Nash comments: “Whilst black and white kitchen designs have always been considered timeless, the popularity of them in recent years has made them less desirable kitchen colours.

With homeowners in 2025 looking to be more daring with design and showcase their individuality through personalised design choices, white and black fail to deliver the desired level of flair and personal expression homeowners are looking for.”

Wood is IN for 2025

Marble worktops have dominated kitchen spaces over the past few years, with homeowners favouring the sleek and smooth finish of marble to complete their kitchens, however, recent search data reveals that wooden worktops are one to watch in 2025.

2025 Interior Trends

Analysing search data from the past year, Magnet reveals that searches for ‘wooden worktops’ have risen by 83% compared to searches for ‘marble worktops’ and within the past month searches for ‘wooden worktops’ have spiked by 446%.

Jen Nash comments: “Wooden timber worktops are one of the key elements of kitchen design that will emerge as a trend in 2025, with homeowners wanting to embrace natural materials.

Over the past year, there has been a massive emphasis on bringing the outdoors in, especially within the world of interiors.

Recycled and natural materials such as wood, stone and plant-based accents will continue to rise in popularity in 2025, as homeowners are not only seeking more tranquil interiors but will be becoming more environmentally conscious within their home designs.”
