Nemiroff Vodka Review: Smooth, Balanced and Perfect for Summer
While the rest of the world seems to have fallen under the spell of gin, I’ve remained loyal to vodka. It’s always been my clear spirit of choice – versatile, elegant, and perfect for everything from a crisp martini to a long, refreshing summer drink.
Recently, I was gifted two bottles of Nemiroff vodka – a Ukrainian brand I’d heard of but never tried before. One was their classic vodka, the other a cranberry-flavoured variation. Both have completely won me over. In fact, Nemiroff has earned its place as my regular vodka going forward. Here’s why.
Smooth, Light, and Exceptionally Drinkable
Nemiroff’s classic vodka is beautifully smooth – none of that harsh bite you often get with lower quality brands. It has a clean, almost light taste on the palate, despite its full ABV. It’s the kind of vodka that doesn’t need heavy mixers to make it enjoyable; chilled and sipped neat, it’s elegant and easy to drink.
The cranberry vodka was equally impressive. Flavoured vodkas can sometimes taste artificial or overly sweet, but this isn’t one of them. It strikes just the right balance: a gentle twist of fruitiness without overpowering the vodka’s natural character. It feels grown-up and well crafted, not gimmicky.
Two Summer Cocktails to Try With Nemiroff Vodka
As the warm weather rolls in, I’ve been experimenting with ways to enjoy both bottles in light, refreshing long drinks. Here are two simple yet sophisticated recipes to elevate your summer evenings.
🍋 Citrus Garden Highball (Classic Nemiroff Vodka)
A fragrant, zesty cocktail with a hint of elderflower – perfect for sipping in the garden.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Nemiroff Classic Vodka
- 20ml fresh lime juice
- 10ml elderflower cordial
- Top up with soda water
- Cucumber ribbon & mint sprig to garnish
Method:
Fill a tall glass with ice. Add vodka, lime juice, and elderflower cordial. Stir gently, top up with soda, and garnish with cucumber and mint.
🍊 Cranberry Sunset (Nemiroff Cranberry Vodka)
A fruity, vibrant cocktail with a gorgeous layered effect.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Nemiroff Cranberry Vodka
- 75ml fresh orange juice
- 25ml pomegranate juice
- Dash of soda water
- Orange slice & pomegranate seeds to garnish
Method:
Build in a glass over ice: add vodka, orange juice, and gently pour in pomegranate juice for a sunset effect. Finish with soda and garnish.
Final Thoughts
As a committed vodka fan, I don’t often stray from my favourites. But Nemiroff has surprised me in the best way – smooth, refined, and just different enough to feel exciting. The cranberry flavour has already become a summer staple in my drinks cabinet, and I suspect the classic bottle won’t last long either.
Nemiroff may not (yet) have the household name status in the UK that some other brands do, but it deserves it. For vodka lovers like me, it’s a brand worth discovering.
