Vibrant New 4-Star Hotel Celebrates Opening Day in Manchester City Centre

Today marks the official opening of the new 278-bedroom Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre, in a city centre location off Oxford Road. The hotel sits opposite the newly regenerated Circle Square neighbourhood, with its independent restaurants, bars and boutique retailers on the doorstep of the hotel.

Guests and visitors were treated to tasters of what the hotel has to offer with entertainment provided by a Saxophonist. The hotel has several unique design features including a geometric lobby wall, vibrant artwork and floor to ceiling windows in the bar and restaurant area.

For those looking to soak up Manchester’s nightlife, a 5-minute stroll takes visitors to the centre of The Gay Village on Canal Street, with the bohemian bars, restaurants, and shops in the trendy Northern Quarter less than a 15-minute walk away. The 17 story hotel provides a vibrant new offering for visitors to Manchester looking to get their football fix, with the hotel under 15 minutes by taxi to both Old Trafford and Etihad Stadium. In addition to modern 4-star bedrooms, the hotel hosts an inviting Bar & Restaurant on the ground floor, with a menu of fresh seasonal produce from local suppliers and a drinks menu featuring Manchester-based brewers and distilleries. The hotel also features the Red Bean Roastery Coffee Shop, a fitness suite, and meeting spaces.

Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre General Manager, Carl Davies, commented:

“Manchester boasts strong character and is proud of its people and culture. From its history to its architecture, the talent that it breeds, its nightlife and the entertainment on offer – it has everything you could want!

“We are thrilled to officially open the doors of the very first Maldron Hotel in Manchester. It has been a huge team effort and we are just over the moon to officially welcome our guests, combining the friendly service Maldron is known for with a Mancunian spirit.

“It’s a city that wants to welcome you! The friendliness and community spirit here is second to none, and it’s those traits amongst others that led to Time Out naming it the third best city in the world last year. From a personal point of view, I’m thrilled that I’m now living and working in Manchester.

“We are in a superb location here, with something fun and exciting to discover in any direction you walk in. We offer excellent value for guests looking for bright modern rooms and great food while experiencing all the delights that Manchester has to offer.”

Guests of the hotel can enjoy easy access to Manchester’s thriving entertainment venues such as Palace Theatre, AO Arena, Bridgewater Hall and Manchester Opera House. The hotel is close to Oxford Road train station and Piccadilly train station is a short walk away. Guests can reach Manchester Airport in 25 minutes by car or taxi. To celebrate the opening, Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre is offering guests booking to stay at the hotel between now and July, 20% off stays including breakfast.

Dalata Hotel Group PLC, the largest hotel operator in Ireland and one of the fastest growing in the UK, operates over 46 hotels across the UK, Ireland and Germany and is an award-winning employer, but this is the first Maldron Hotel to open in Manchester. The £43m city centre hotel has brought over 60 new jobs to the city. It was recently confirmed that another Maldron Hotel will commence construction on Chapel Street as the company grows its presence in the United Kingdom.
