I Tried TikTok’s Viral Dr. Melaxin Eye Cream – My Honest Review
Every couple of weeks it feels like TikTok discovers another skincare product that we’re all supposed to be buying. One minute it’s a collagen mask, the next it’s a miracle serum, and before you know it your For You Page is full of people claiming they’ve found the secret to perfect skin.
So, naturally, here I am again.
I’ve bought another viral skincare product so you don’t have to.
I’m not a brand ambassador, nobody is paying me to tell you it’s amazing, and I don’t have an affiliate link waiting for you at the end of this article. My job is simply to try these viral products, give you my honest opinion and let you decide whether they’re worth your hard-earned money.
This time it’s the Dr. Melaxin Calcium Cemenrete Dark Spot Cover Eye Cream.

First Impressions
The first thing that confused me about this product is what it actually is.
It’s marketed as an eye cream rather than makeup, yet when you open the jar you’re greeted with a beige, skin-toned cream that looks remarkably like a concealer.
The texture, however, tells a different story.
Instead of feeling thick or cosmetic, it has the silky consistency of a moisturising skincare product. Straight away it feels more like a hybrid than a traditional eye cream or concealer.
What’s Inside?
Dr. Melaxin combines skincare ingredients with colour-correcting pigments, creating a product that promises both immediate brightening and longer-term skincare benefits.
Some of the key ingredients include:
- Hydrolysed Elastin to help improve the skin’s elasticity while providing hydration.
- Calcium Complex (Cemenrete Calcium), the brand’s signature ingredient, designed to support healthier-looking skin.
- Colour-correcting mineral pigments that instantly brighten the under-eye area and help disguise dark circles.
- Moisturising emollients that allow the cream to glide over delicate skin without feeling heavy or cakey.
Rather than simply masking the under-eye area like traditional concealer, the formula aims to combine skincare with cosmetic coverage.
Less Really Is More
I’ve been using it for several days now and the first thing I learnt is that less really is more.
The first time I applied it, I was far too heavy-handed.
From a value-for-money point of view, that’s actually good news because you need the tiniest amount. I can already tell this little pot is going to last ages, making the price much easier to justify.
Does It Actually Brighten Dark Circles?
Yes… but with one important condition.
It definitely brightens the under-eye area. In fact, if you use too much, I actually think it can look slightly unnatural.
I’ve seen quite a few people on TikTok sporting what I’d describe as reverse panda eyes, where the under-eye area is dramatically lighter than the rest of the face. Personally, I don’t think that’s the look most people are aiming for.
However, use the right amount and blend it properly, and it’s a completely different story.
It genuinely brightens the under-eye area without looking heavy or obvious.
Why It Won Me Over
Here’s the interesting part…
Dark circles have never really been my biggest concern.
Fine lines are.
Most concealers settle into those little lines beneath my eyes, leaving me looking older rather than younger. In many cases I’d genuinely rather wear no concealer at all.
That’s where this product surprised me.
I hadn’t actually realised it was intended to help with more than just dark circles, but what impressed me most was how it behaved on my skin.
It doesn’t cake.
It doesn’t collect in every tiny crease.
It doesn’t sit heavily on the surface like makeup.
Instead, it feels much more like applying skincare while still giving enough coverage to brighten the area.
For me, that’s where this product really shines.
Eye Cream or Makeup?
Honestly…
I’d say it’s both.
If you’re expecting a traditional eye cream that completely disappears into the skin, this isn’t it.
If you’re expecting a full-coverage concealer, it isn’t that either.
I’d describe it as a skincare-makeup hybrid.
It provides immediate brightening while feeling lightweight, comfortable and far more natural than many concealers I’ve tried.

Verdict
This is now one of several Dr. Melaxin products I’ve tested, and I have to admit the brand is starting to impress me.
Not every viral TikTok skincare product deserves the hype, but this one has genuinely earned a place in both my skincare and makeup routine.
Will it completely erase dark circles overnight?
No.
Will it brighten your under-eye area, avoid the cakey finish of many concealers and leave the delicate skin looking smoother and fresher?
Absolutely.
Used sparingly and blended well, I think it’s an excellent product that lives up to much of the hype surrounding it.
For me, it’s one of those rare TikTok skincare trends that doesn’t just go viral for the sake of it—it actually performs.
And yes, I think it’s worth every penny.
